morning everyone! busy week here it feels like. dd1 has 2 days left for school. I need to pick up a couple last minute things for her teacher gifts. I stole the idea from pinterest (where else). each teacher/ea (there's 3) will get a beach towel rolled up, sunscreen, a magazine and an insulated drinking cup along with a hand written note from dd1 (she's 4). for her class I did 2 little freezies tied up with a note saying 'have a cool summer', and for her class party i'm making rainbow fruit kabobs. luckily lots of fruit is on sale this week.

DH has a birthday on Friday and i'm making him a birthday cake. It's a Top Gear cake (hes a top gear fanatic) so I've got The Stig to go on top. Just need to pick up some fondant and make the checkerboard to wrap around the cake. Then we're going to the Mandarin with his sister and her family. really looking forward to it. haven't been to a mandarin in probably 6 or 7 years.

It's so so hot and muggy here these past couple days. our a/c broke and it was going to cost us too much to replace it so we're making do with ceiling fans and rotating fans. definitely will be in the inflatable pool this afternoon! hope everyone has a great Monday and stays cool!

Lynn, Bridgeview Resort is a privately owned campground and it's also a passport America related campground (which means half price camping
, it doesn't apply when you camp by the month, but anytime I've stayed here, I pay only $22.50 for full hookup with 50 amp service instead of $55 a night for up to 2 weeks) I like this place because the have an outdoor heated, saltwater pool (I hate the chlorine on my old skin) and we can raft in the river (well, maybe not this summer, depends on the flow). They have a fabulous games room for the kids, great parks with tons of swings and stuff, lots of privately treed sites and if you need, an amazing laundry room with 10 washers and 10 dryers. I use the ones in my rv but anyone camping with kids knows how quickly the laundry piles up. Have you looked into the Passport America club yet?
These are some of the campgrounds that fall under the 50% discount in Ontario

They have more than 1800 campgrounds between Canada and USA and are always adding more almost monthly. Like I said before, if any of you guy's and your families are hardcore campers, the membership pays for itself usually within the first 3 or 4 nights of camping.
gracesmommy, I absolutely L O V E the idea you have for your little ones teacher....I may steal it, if permission is granted????? Same goes for the treats for the classmates. Last year Ryder gave notes and a small bag of fun $ store things for his classmates, but this year we're going to pass. Only because there are 38 kids. I'm sad that the children loose out but it would cost a lot more money that I can spend to do little bags this year. Hopefully next year his class will be smaller. We all need a little sunshine every now and then

absolutely! I stole it from pinterest haha. I know what you mean about the class gifts. that's why I went with the freezies. a box of 100 for 4 or 5 bucks and just give each kid 2, plus lots left over for my little ones. wish I could post pictures - its been explained to me many times by wonderful sc'ers but i'm such a tool I can't figure it out lol.

Thank you, Holly!
Yes, I did check out their site, and as usual in this province, everything is in southern Ontario, which is a real bummer. We haven't plans to got south this summer, but next year that may be a possibility...although, nothing really draws me there; we have more southern campers up here escaping the south! lol!
We're just getting used to hauling, and once we get more accustomed to it, we have friends who'd like us to park it at some place called "The Alamo" in the Rio Grande area. However, we'd have to take it down in the fall, then use it from March, on.
Might be a possibility, esp with the 50% off passport!
Thank you, Sweetie!
And your plan of taking those cupcakes to the shelter is absolutely wonderful!!
WHAT a caring heart you have!!!

LOL true. I love summer but I hate humidity! Some days when we were in Cuba it was +42 but it was a dry heat, you could breath, it was nice in the shade. But with humidity, you can't breath, its like someone stuck a damp towel over the city and its breathing on it lol

HI all! Yay, I did have close to two hours' sleep, which felt very mind-clearing, and now I'm here, fresh and clean out of the shower - ah!
Wow, all of you with kids busy with year end things - gracesmommy, great ideas for gifts, for sure!
Cabbie, what happened to the computer you had; did you sell it?
Well, it's noon and still sunny! YAY!

what a day so far... hot.. but with the AC on ..nice..
went to talize, scored some deals. trying to come up with a couple of ideas for my sons' birthdays in a few weeks. something cheap. well i found the CUTEST cupcake ideas on pinterest. one was taking cupcakes sprinkled with sesame seeds, cut in 1/4. so cutting the top half off. (white cupcakes or lemon) and then filling with red, yellow, green icing for the 'mustard, lettuce, ketchup'- hamburger cupcakes.
Then i found one you take a regular cupcake cover in white icing, then take mike and ike's candy, cut off end, insert toothpick and insert into cupcake... to make it look like popsickles on sticks.. so cool.
so easy. not much effort. love it.Be Strong
Be True
Be You.
Simple as that!
