Lynn, it was just so sad seeing the look of defeat on my husband... before he just held his head down, covered with his hands.... so hard on him.
We just did the insurance claim, now he has to find out how/when he can get to the van - it's totally full of all his tools and stuff for work.
Ah, crap he called and they are only open til 5 - gah, more problems to deal with...

    Just didn't need the aggro....

" but he's left with no vehicle and he has to have one for work." Oh Natalka! I'm so sorry to hear your new news! Do you have provision in your insurance to rent a vehicle? I definitely hope the winds of change are blowing your way!

I went to usher at our cultural centre tonight. It was the release of a new film which will be shown in series on TVO about the effect of The War of 1812 on the people of Upper Canada. (That's us!) Very important events in the war happened around Chatham as the Thames River was a crucial route for supplies and transportation. The story was very complex. After 2 hours, though, and heading into the last chapter (part 3) - I had to leave. My back and knee were killing me after I'd been packing again today. There were plenty of others there to help clear out the crowd. I'm waiting until I can take a back and muscle pain reliever. I tried a straight tylenol earlier but it didn't help much.

Thanks for the hugs; they are much needed and definitely appreciated!

We'll just have to see what today brings... hopefully resolution of some things on the way and no more obstacles or calamities!

Husband just came home just before noon. No vehicle.

On his way to work before 8 a.m., he was in an accident on Circle Drive, our bypass the city route he always takes to work.

    He's FINE!

However, the van is totalled and couldn't be driven away. (we just paid it off a few months ago!)

He was third in a line of four vehicles involved.... all started by some arse who was driving erratically - and because it was on a bridge, he had no way to veer to avoid it, he at least got to the side a bit - but still his radiator, etc. were all busted up...

GAH! What some people do to other innocent people!

Luckily, no one in the other vehicles was hurt, either - amazing, considering the speed limit is 90km/hr.

SO, not his fault (uh, not what started the accident but who knows what the insurance co will say, he did hit the other vehicle in front of him, and a vehicle hit him from behind, too) - but he's left with no vehicle and he has to have one for work.

He's also worried because he was in an accident this past winter when he was driving on a icy slope of road and some arse stopped short and there were six or so vehicles piled up. Not much damage to his van then, but he was assessed as at fault for that (points, surcharge) - even thought there was nothing anyone could do to stop...

OY, I'm just so depressed right now.....
And I have to stay strong for him because he feels so badly about adding this trouble to our current situation.

I will, I can do that!
Oh Nat...so sorry to hear your DH was in a accident again.
But soooo glad that he is ok, and no one was hurt.
I know all about the insurance, we were in one last year, we are number 3 in the line, but that didn't stop our insurance from doubling....so sad that these insurance raise your insurance by soooo much, even when you're not at fault.
