My mom used be overly critical of me...when I found out I was pregnant with my second (surprise! my first was 5 months), I told her the truth about how her negativity made me feel (like a failure...etc.). I knew having two babies so close in age would greet a negative response from her. I told her I thought it was positive and I didn't want her negatvity ruining my joy. We had some confilct, but our relationship has been better since.

I though it can take a lot of courage, honesty, I have found drives negativity away...

Like Natalka, some distance (if possible) works too. My mom realized she wanted to be around and wanted me to want her around, so that was the big turn around for us. Thumper was one smart bunny.

On to some churchy news that maybe only Vee will understand, lol!

Visiting Canada is our church's Patriarch from Ukraine, His Beatutide Sviatoslav Shevchuk. He's the major archbishop of Ukrainian Catholics in the world, so it's a very special visit. He'll be in different provinces during his time here.
He was appointed last year, and he's only 42 - so that's a very cool thing.

Sunday is the big day herre in Saskatoon with a Pontifical Liturgy. So thrilled our son was chosen to be a 'lector' to serve at the altar, to be in charge of His Beatutide's pastoral staff (it's a crosier, a symbol of the shepherd leading the spiritual flock). (yes, it's all ceremonial religious stuff, but a huge deal!).

Yesterday, he was at the Ukrainian elementary school here, where my nephew goes (my son used to go there, my sister used to be principal). Well, my BIL is in charge of his schedule/communications, so he's busy with the visit, and also attending the ceremony was my cousin, who as a Senator, gave greetings on behalf of the Federal Government.


Here's a bit of him doing a Liturgy in BC recently (he's the one with the candles) - now a treat for those of you who have read this far, you are going to get a glimpse of my 'old boyfriend' - the man I was dating before I met and married my husband (well, they overlapped by a year, lol). He's the bishop on the far right of the screen...
