I went to their site looking for some easy recipes for our grandson who is, as Ninna calls hers, "sandwich snobs". They had a section with coupons galore...$1 off this, $2 off that....but they're ONLY for the US market.
So I emailed them my displeasure and asked to be pointed to one of their sites with such opportunities for Canadians, and here's their response:
Thank you for contacting General Mills concerning www.pillsbury.com.

Um...no, Jennifer, I did not find it helpful, it infuriated me even more! OUR coupons are on boxes to be purchased, NOT printable coupons! Buy this, get that coupon....nope, not helpful since I don't WANT that first item in the first place!
So...PHHHHTTT! to Pillsbury. NOT Canadian friendly! Did not purchase their product. imho....
I didn't know where to post this, there were so many possibilities...please mods, move it if you feel there's a better home for it elsewhere...

All U.S. companies which have Canadian divisions that give us a pittance of what Americans do in coupons and promotions.U.S.A. has 300 million people and Canada has 35 million and the U.S. has more food and health and beauty companies.I've complained to several companies to ask them to put coupons in Smartsource. They have sent coupons to me cheaper for them. If you go www.couponshoppinwitjane.com and www.youtube.com/couponshoppinwitjane you can see Smartsource,Red Plum and Brandsaver coupon insert the Americans get.Canada's Smartsource,Red Plum and Brandsaver pale in comparison.

Yup, the Americans not only get MORE coupons.... they get BETTER coupons that can go along with their already CHEAPER food, BETTER sales, BETTER coupon policies AND.... CHEAPER gas to get to the stores!!
With all that in mind.... I am still happy that I am Canadian, just wish I lived out west so that I could (at the very least) stack my coupons

wtf?
While anyone in the world can access this web site, the site is intended for use by residents of the United States of America only.
What does that mean?
That Canadians shouldn't be on their American site to look up recipes and such??
makes me change my mind about their yummy crescent roles!
I mean...no.. theiry horrible, buttery (no!), crummy crescent roles!(don't get me started on their Cinnamon Buns!!)

Yes, it's aggravating that it seems the US get more coupons than we do.
Sorry you didn't know about the Life Made Delicious site before - I love the site, getting coupons through them - and they sometimes have great promos!

Lynn,
You're not really missing anything. Pillsbury uses cottonseed and/or soybean shortening in their products. I can't help but think it was exclusively a cost concern rather than for taste or health.

..
Ew. I thought it would be the easiest way to make those calzones...but I bought frozen bread dough and omg...rolling it out was a nightmare of pain! My hubby took over that task! This next set I made out of a hunk of frozen pie dough...ooooohhh, so much easier to roll! If I do them again I'll use my trusty Martha Stewart's pie dough...oh. Excuse me: pate brise! lol!
It works beautifully every time!

I have shopped many times in the USA as we have a son and family living there and their coupon offers are the absolute pits. Many times you have to buy 3 or 4 things to get $1 off. Good deal, not so in my thought. And even IF they double the value most of the time it's still not great.
Just my thought!
