Its definitely easier to make the cake first and crumble it. I bought a cake pop maker and the thing was a pos and I had to return it. I would figure the cake pop baking pan to be about the same.

Ok, speaking of teenagers, I have a story to share...
My daughter (15) was kind of hinting lately that she wanted her belly button pierced. I'm not a prude by any means but am against it for several reasons - it's hard to keep clean, she's prone to bleeding and infections, she's a dancer which means that she'd have to remove it before each dance comp, convention e.t.c. And I still have nightmares about her cartilage piercing, she was bleeding so heavily at the aesthetician's chair that I contemplated taking her to a hospital.. So, I've been fighting tooth and nail against it, even though "all of her friends are doing it and their moms are obviously ok with that"

Long story short, my DH just went down east to visit his family for a week and two days into his trip he post on FB a picture of his first tattoo!!! What He never talked about it before, never mentioned that he wanted one and that's how I found out! Well, let me tell you that as soon as my DD saw the picture she stepped her battle and now her argument is "well, if Dad could get a tattoo I don't see why I can't get a belly button piercing". So far I've been staying strong but my defenses are crumbling...

To the moms of teenagers, do any of you have any experience with belly button piercings? Am I over thinking it?

And to the moms of toddlers and babies - enjoys your babies because very soon they'll be all grown up before you know it!

I don't recall if I answered the cookie cutter question posed earlier in the thread... If not (or in case I did and answered no..)... I'm sorry!

I'd love any of these: butterfly, hello kitty or assorted ones of cute animals/Disney characters :D Thanks!

I got mine pierced 17 years ago as my younger sister REALLY wanted it done, but was super nervous at the same time. I went first...It literally felt like a pinch and was over. She had to have hers taken out when she was preggers as her belly was just SOOO big that it was pushing it out.
The first month or so that it was in, the waist on my jeans would irritate it when I sat down, but nowadays jeans do not sit that high. That is literally the only negative thing I can say.
I mine is still in tact, never removed. To tell the truth, I often forget it is even there! It is not a big deal at all...I had more issues with my second ear piercing I got when I was 13! One positive thing about it is that if in the future she does decide to remove it, she will not have a big permanant scar for the world to see...it will just be a little mark inside her belly button!

I got my belly button pierced in my early 20s and removed it a few years after that. It wasn't a big deal at the time....until I got pregnant at the age of 32. Since having babies, you can now see a scar where the piercing used to be. It's small (about 1 cm) and due to pregnancy weight gain, I'm not going to be wearing a bikini any time soon, but it is noticeable if anyone looks at my belly.
I don't know why a scar the size of a pin prick expanded to the size a cm, but it is kind of ugly, and in retrospect I wish I hadn't had it pierced.

first I must comment. MrsS with 100+ posts on here. OMG. i need to shut up

no belly piercings or of any kind here. probably not going to ever happen. I WAS going to do it when i hit 40... well I decided ( after 40 came and went with a few extra pounds around the middle) it wasn't happening and thought as a reward MAYBE i might get a tattoo a wee little one someday. but still thinking on that. my kids have have not requested ANY of the like. . and im now realizing that the old standby of wait til your 18/adult um really kinda sucks cuz i figured they'd be gone by then.. pfft not. ones already there and the other is .. well he may get there if he's lucky next year. but still no desire at all.
Coupmama I think i'd answer the same. your Dad's an adult. when you are one too your more then welcome to mull that decision over when the time comes. good luck

to Jeze... i'd take trish's suggestion first about the cake pops. however if Jeze's buddy wants to pm me i know where you can get one

NO milk for my coffee and milk man comes tomorrow .

So I added vanilla ice cream .

First my DD wanted her upper ear pierced reluctently said ok. It has since grown over.

Second, she wanted her eyebrow pierced, reluctently said ok. It is small and she still has it.

Third she wanted her tounge pierced. Said no. She waited until she was 18 and had it done. I can't see it unless she sticks her tounge out at me which she does't

Fourth, she wanted a small stud in her nose. She was 18 and had it done. It is actually cute.

As long as she doesn't spring a leak all is ok .

It is all self expression and can be taken out. That said, as Nat mentioned the after effects after pregnancy might be quite different. Tough call

I'm assuming the BF will qualify as a DH, lol!

    Does he read books? Magazines?
More of an internet surfer.. but he's latest obsession is with SLR Cameras and photography.. I've been putting my foot down on him ordering this ridiculously expensive camera online ($3000, plus lenses..) and keep suggesting he should start with a basic, to see if he even likes it! Grrr, I hate to admit it, but you know how they say you choose someone similar to your father? He is soooo like my Dad in this respect, the go big or go home attitude.. with my Dad it's cars.. why have 1 when you can have 10? (sorry, rant over now... lol)

Favorite treat? He will eat anything. (He calls it fuel..) But he especially likes sour gummies, and ginger candies.. the chewy kind that you can get at Bulk Barn. Chippies too, as he calls them.

Item he is always running out of? Regular tea.. I'm not a tea drinker usually but will buy the fruity herbal teas once in a while. I never notice when he's out of the normal tea as he won't ask, just uses the fruity kind which I know isn't his preference.

Coffee? Tea? Hot Chocolate? Tea mainly, drinks more coffee now that he's up super early at 415am, so instant coffee, any brand would be great.

Adult bevvie? Not much of a drinker, but likes to buy one unique beer every time he goes to the beer store.

Hobby? Computers, ugh... it drives me crazy. Let's see, he has 2 Mac Pro towers, a 27" I-Mac, an IPad, the IPhone 4 and 5, his IPod, some time capsule stuff, plus some weird studio speaker thingys that need a board to run. I don't think there is possibly anything my buddy could get the BF affordable, nor do I know what he could possibly add to this mix!

Sports? Fave team? Not a big sports fan, but we do watch UFC. I almost wish he did, it would be a much more affordable hobby than the above!

Anything else you think I might find useful to know about him? Other than the computer habit, he's a very bare bones kinda guy. Not concerned with nice clothes, shoes, etc. He's very generous and giving to others. The only other item I could think of is long socks. He works at FedEx and mentioned the other day when it was cold out, that he needed to get long socks as his legs were getting cold in/out of the trucks. He's the only person I know other than me that can't take the cold. (He sleeps with a toque, fuzzy pj bottoms and hoodie, plus 3 (yes 3!!) extra blankets on top of the duvet. I'm not quite old enough for hot flashes, but if he comes to bed after me and covers me in those blankets, I'm roasting all night!)

Chi Infra Shampoo $2.00, John Freida Frizz Serum Nighttime $2.00. Are you interested in either of these items buddy? I've never tried these brands, but I could use the frizz serum.

keep the bandaid on as long as possible making sure to keep it clean and dry. by keeping it on it will help to keep the skin together and will help the healing process and the skin to grow back together. if you need to remove the bandaid, make sure to clean the area and reapply the bandaid to hold everything nice and tight!!

hope it heals nice and quick for you!!!

OMG! I went away for the weekend to a rented cottage up north of Peterborough, which was lovely despite the weather, and had to catch up on 21 pages!! which took me FOREVER (still have to answer all the questions) and included a 8 hour nap

We have solar panels on the roof powering fans for the pop can heater to keep warm air moving into the room and cooler air moving into the heater. The idea is we can hang laundry to dry year round -regardless of weather. Sounds a little nuts....but works well. We're in the process of going off grid.

I'll take a picture of the inside once DH finishes working in there.....we've still got to put the washer in and hang the clothes lines.
thats awesome! i would to go off the grid but it is kind of hard living in the city...

BUDDY- did I tell you how AMAZING your wishlist is?!? So many options! THANK-YOU!

I'm heading to Esapnola for the weekend. I'm keeping my mom company when she takes Tyler(her grandson/my nephew) to his Camp Quality Camp Reunion(summer camp for children who have survived cancer or are going through cancer treatments--my nephew is a survivor )

I have my coupons packed and plan to stuff 3 trains. I planned it that way. I am also going to shop at Giant Tiger.. we don't have one here and they sell the worlds most comfortable underwear. HA! I know how silly it sounds but they are fabulous. $2 a pair.. they don't shrink and most importantly, they don't ride up my bum. We call them "sexy granny panties". BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!

I'm super excited for next weekend too. Hubby and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. We are not doing anything to fancy... we are hoping to spend the day together if his work schedule allows it. We are looking forward to our Cuba trip in January that is our Chrismas present to each other AND we will have a romantic dinner(or two) to celebrate our five years.

OH, NickiB... We will be in London ON in February for the Provincial Billiard Championships. We are staying at the "Downtown Hilton". February 12th-17th. Maybe a coffee???
oooo...my list was super long are you my buddy??

More yummy- Jam and marmalade sound delicious. I will pass on the branston pickle and relish- no one here would eat it

Totally missed the wool question- but I really prefer softer yarns. Wool makes me itchy.

Yes I listen to CDs occassionally. Something fun and upbeat would be great. (Burned is great)

Ohhhh... This is hard. Something newer from Nora Robets, Debbie Maycomber, Sandra Brown or something along those lines. Contemporary romance...

I like both. I really could use another loofah too (no handle on it please).

Yes- but no snakes or creepy crawlers.... Or anything I have to feed or clean up after please...

I am ok with gently used anything

My immediate thought is/was- Adult movies??? We can put those on our wishlist? But after I thought about it I figured out what you were referring to (at least I think I did)

I like chick flicks. action, drama, comedy (but not that stupid comedy)- no horror or scary movies for me

Me either. My plan is to do it all when I get back from my cruise (7 more sleeps!!!). That way I can stay focused and get exactly what I want.

OMG! I think I may actually be caught up with the questions!!! Until dinner time anyways.

    - Gingerbread.. I still have Gingerbread coffee grounds in the freezer I can't wait to pull out!
    - Hi, my name is NickiB, and I have a toilet paper addiction... I only like 2 kinds (Charmin Ex Strong/Cottonelle Ultra) but will buy whatever is cheap or almost free. - (BF's bathroom in the basement gets the non-preferred brands, lol!)
    - Wet kitty food... I swear it costs more to feed her than it does two adults!

I also haven't started shopping yet....normally I do not allow any Christmas talk before my birthday (Nov 27th) but I am going to have to suck it up this year lol oh well, its totally worth it!

Question to buddy: if you have kid(s) that are not on the kids train....are there items that are not allowed to have?
i think i put this on my wishlist but if not here goes

no skanky or slutty clothes for barbies
    no toy weapons

I would LOVE a new couch, mine has EXTREMELY LARGE rips in 2 of the cushions. Hubby doesnt want to buy a new and keeps telling me he is going to fix it, yeah right, I have been waiting over 3 months maybe even 4. Everyday it gets worse as DD (& the 2 kids I watch) help destroy it further by sticking their feet into the rips/holes and picking out the stuffing *sigh* I am going to have to take a photo of it later just to show you all how incrediably sad and ruin our couch is.

But since that wish is probably impossible, I would like a date night with hubby. It has been over a year since we went on a date night We were going to go on one for our 4th anniversary but I ended up babysitting quite later *sigh*. Either a resturant GC (milestones is my fav) or Cineplex Adult Night Out Pass(es) would be amazing!

I swear buddy, I'll go through the thread tomorrow and try to answer anything I missed.
I know exactly how you feel

Yikes, I dread the day I may have to deal with this. My oldest will be 5 in 17 days so hopefully it will be awhile. I think I would definitely be going with the "when you're an adult" speech. I wasn't even allowed to get my ears pierced until I was an adult! I don't know anyone of my ripe old age of 28 that have a pierced belly button...but did have a couple of friends who had it done as teenagers. One had it ripped out accidently. It was a horrific mess and left a really nasty scar. The other, I have no idea when she took hers out, but since having a baby also has a rather long scar from it.

i think i missed quoting all the question, so here goes on the ones I remember

favourite christmas treats/foods: nanaimo bars (if you know how to make these buddy - I would really LOVE if you could send me some), egg nog (alchol-free version) & turtles

wine? only drink white and prefer sweet dessert wines fav is Libfraumilch

baking from scratch or mix? I dont bake very often but when I do 99% of the time is it from scratch.

As for the Elf on Shelf - I cant decide if it is a good idea or a bad idea for my DD. PammieD's right the elf is pretty creepy looking. and then the idea of an elf that watches you is kind of creepy but i can also see the cute side to it. I am still undecided if I want one for DD or not!
