so curious to how everyone is organizing their gifts. I thought I would build up. Start with the small more inexpensive gift and work up to the more lavish (yes I think I like that word) gifts. But I don't want my buddy for the first week to be disappointed. So hey buddy remember it will get better!

I was planning to mix them up a bit, and of course save the best for last So far I'm just trying to get everything then I'll figure out the order though. Especially for the kid train I was thinking of doing an edible treat every two or three days to help spread out the other stuff. I do like your idea of starting small and building though, I'll have to see what I've got in the end lol.

My favourite type of movie is the Romantic Comedy. I like 80s movies---Flashdance is my all time favourite. I like all movies that don't have a big purple dinosaur starring in them!!

I've been collecting my childhood favourites too for my kids. I loved the book Miss Nelson is missing! I've been looking for Aligator Pie by Dennis Lee. We have a board book version, but I've been trying to find the picture book that has the other poems in it too.

I haven't met any of my couponing peeps yet--with the exception of a quick hello to Gwennad and her sweet little guy during the last package train. On our trip down east, we were very close by to Bluzsuz and Erinsmom, but didn't make it over due to 2 different trips to the ER. (gotta love family vacations!).
About a month ago, I was about 10 minutes away from Coupmama and thought about touching base, but I got nervous and decided against it.

what exactly is a solar laundry room? can you post a photo?

We have a small sun room attached to our house (was used as a greenhouse) approx 4x8 -it has a sloped roof facing south -so DH built a pop can solar heater (warms air as it passes through a maze of black pop cans).


We have solar panels on the roof powering fans for the pop can heater to keep warm air moving into the room and cooler air moving into the heater. The idea is we can hang laundry to dry year round -regardless of weather. Sounds a little nuts....but works well. We're in the process of going off grid.

I'll take a picture of the inside once DH finishes working in there.....we've still got to put the washer in and hang the clothes lines.

Has anyone met another Sc'er on here to do a recycle walk or hang out, etc...? I'm way too shy and would love to do this with someone! Or if anyone needs a play date for their DS/DD, I have a lil girl (10 mths old) whose very active and I'd want her to have a friend and play while us mommies do our couponing or have tea, etc. before I head back to work in a month, and before the snow starts to fall...

I really REALLY need a place that delivers Mexican...Even 'Chexican!' hahahaha! (I amuse myself sometimes). We were craving it last night, but really, Mexican doesn't deliver very well in general. Seeing this message right now though makes me want a taco salad...mmmm...I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!!!

I think it is sooo cool that you know where I live and when I talk about how small or how close the USA is to us-- you well 100% understand. I don't ski..or snowmachine... not my cup of tea.

MAYBE we could meet and do a "coupon walk" together. You would be the FIRST SC member(besides my sister) that I have met "in person".

I only have 4 days done... nothing is wrapped and I don't have my box yet.

(We can PM and see if we've got any mutual spare time when I'm up at Christmas - only up for a few days this Christmas...waaaay too much in-law time for my liking this year...I've spent 2 full weeks up there already! lol...but with the arrival of the first grandchild, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a dog and pony show! The Soo is definitely a place you have to experience with locals to fully understand. Most of my friends now are from there (apparently everyone from the Soo goes to Western?) and it's funny. Things like 'going across', 'camp', and KMart Plaza now make sense...so weird though...a) not being asked for a passport to cross the border when you go across to buy groceries/gas/pick up your deliveries, b) you mean 'cottage', c) KMart? It hasn't been KMart in over a decade people! Not a point of reference that helps me navigate my way around! hahaha...I've learned though. But seriously? I still don't get the big deal about soo pie's...who cares if there's pop in the crust? I dunno. K, end of ramble! Lol

Good chance they at least know of each other. I think pumpkin and her sisters are the first people my DH doesn't know of! Any time we go out down here he seems to run into or point out someone that he went to high school with etc.

I am glad you said that I loved the books and was so disappointed in the movie, but everyone always say how great it is I thought maybe it was me and I had just to may expectations.

Rarely do I watch a movie if I've read the book for this very reason. I was pretty underwhelmed by the movie...it was fine, but I guess I had low expectations? This is actually the first movie I've watched after reading the book since Twilight...well except for the Harry Potter series because I found that to be done so well!

And no used DVDs or tv for me as my brother helps me download most things. As for a book, I have my own little children's library. Looked for these books last year because one of the contestants on The Voice reminded me of her (and DH had no idea who I was talking about! I couldn't remember the name of the books so I went searching!).

The whole series is available on both Amazon and Chapters and the prices are pretty comparable (same with Alligator Pie)...PLUS, with the plum rewards promo they have going on for kids for the next year, it's kinda handy. For every 5 $25 transactions you make from the kids section (toys or books) between now and Sept 30, 2013, you get 8500 bonus points (I can't remember how much that is, but I think it's like $20 in points? Not bad if you're buying the merchandise anyway!). Plus, the points are applicable to online purchases (which is nice because you don't usually get points for online purchases). Side note - I can't believe the price differences some times between Chapters online and in-store. A new release, was quite literally halfish the price ordering from Chapters online vs. buying it in the store! I went into the store to pick it up after seeing it on their website (thinking I'd support peoples' jobs and get the plum points at the same time). $17ish in store, $9ish online! WTF. Walked out and ordered online!). A dollar or something I can handle, but $8?!?!?

I dunno - I'm just sorting through all of my stuff now and was hoping to do more Christmassy/bigger stuff around Christmas, but at the same time, the gifts/size/values are kinda evenly spaced out and the Christmassy stuff is stuff they'll likely want up front!

Aww, Nat! You shouldn't nervous! I do keep in touch with some CS buddies that live nearby, most often I prefer to drop off the envies instead of mailing them.

I've met up with Mrs. Sunshine as part of a London meeting before, but haven't been to one in quite a while. (Not sure if they still have them, some of the regulars from before I don't see on SC much) It would be nice though to chat with other members in person, at least they wouldn't look at me like I have two heads when I whip out a handful of coupons!

I can't believe some of you are almost done! I've picked up a few items, but they are more "filler" type items I happened to see while I was out doing other stuff. I guess I should hunker down and start a plan of attack.. I didn't even think about the order of the gifts!

I think I'm mostly caught up on questions, except for the following;

Used DVDs? I'm fine with anything used of this nature, although we have a big library of downloads, so don't use DVD's much.

Favourite type of movie? Romantic Comedy, Chick flicks, Action or Crime Thrillers. Just absolutely not Sci-Fi (snoozefest) or Horror (stopped watching these when I lived alone in a 200yr old house, by a cornfield.. you get the idea.. every noise freaked me out!)

Favourite Movie? That's a toughie.. I don't know that I'd say my favourite, but Bridesmaids, and the Hangover series make me laugh until I have to pee, lol!

yep met NickiB.. she's ok kidding. shes' all good. im SO glad I reorganized my list last night.. I literally am almost done my shopping conquered 3/4 of it today. I just need like everyone else for the stores to get the xmas stuff out. then im done. so far im thrilled with my finds. now im starving and thirsty but SO glad is Friday and I can catch up with all my chores and hopefully organize some of my gifts.

Every year I laugh that Christmas stuff is out before halloween is over and now that I am looking for Christmas stuff, I can't find a single thing.
