Drain a can of tuna, add mayo (as much or as little as you like) and add ins (celery, onions, pepper etc)
Put the tuna on a slice of bread or a bun or a bagel, top with cheddar and toast in the oven until melted!
SO GOOD. I put mine in a sandwich maker and it kind of becomes a ooey cheesy tuna "pocket"!

Thanks for the ideas. I haven't made some of these before. Any suggestions for using flavoured tuna?

Grilled Tuna Cheddar Melt
2 slices of bread, magarine or butter, 1 cheese slice, chopped onion, mayonnaise and 1 slice of tomato, salt and pepper (or whatever spices you like to use)
Mix the tuna with chopped onion and mayonnaise (whatever amount of mayo you like) and salt/pepper or spices.
Spread maragarine or butter on both slices of bread, on the inside and outside
Add cheese slice to one piece of bread, layer with tuna mixture and top with tomato slice and 2nd piece of bread.
Grill in a frypan until cheese is melted or bread is browned.
A healthier alternative... put both slices of bread in toaster, when bread is toasted, follow the steps above without adding maragarine/butter to the outside of bread slices, and microwave it for 25-30 seconds on medium heat. Also a toaster over works great for this too. Saves calories, fat this way instead of grilling it in a frypan.Last edited by toban; Thu, Nov 1st, 2012 at 04:49 PM.

I eat flavoured tuna (like the "gourmet" Clover Leaf kind) plain with some crusty bread.
I had the Chipotle in olive oil variety yesterday and it made for a yummy appetizer!

The recipe I gave you above is with the tomato and basil flavored tuna. I also like using the chipotle tuna to make taco's just warm it slightly, put it in a taco shell and top with some good homemade pico de gallo, some guac, some fesh cilantro and your set (a dap of sour cream if you like too) It makes a fabulous taco.

Tuna Melts are good.
Here's another version a little different from those listed above.
Tuna
Mayo
Onion (diced fine)
Cheddar Cheese (grated)
1 Tbsp Relish
Mustard (2 tsp)
Celery (chopped fine)
1 Hard boiled egg (grated)
Mix it all together and put on an english muffin or bagel and toast in the oven/toaster oven until heated through.Trade List /Wishlist: http://forum.smartcanucks.ca/382792-dreamcatcher1962s-trade-wish-lists-canada/#post5928904

This is from the CloverLeaf website, I have made it before and it is *really* good. You can also use just unflavoured tuna if you want a milder taste.
TUNA CURRY IN A HURRY INGREDIENTS
PREPARATION1 tbsp (15 mL) butter 1 clove garlic, minced 2 cans (85 g each) Clover Leaf Flaked Light Tuna - Spicy Thai Chili 1 cup (250 mL) low fat sour cream 1 tsp (5 mL) curry powder
- Over medium heat melt butter in a large saucepan. Add garlic.
- Stir in tuna, sour cream and curry powder.
- Heat until warm and serve over rice or accompany with Naan bread if desired.
- Garnish with cilantro (optional).

I use this recipe that was supposed to be for salmon cakes but I didn't have salmon one day and used tuna and it's really good no matter which you use!
Oh and whatever you do; do NOT drain the canned tuna/salmon you need that water! I made the mistake of draining it the first time and they were too dry.
Ingredients:
- 1 can (16 ounces) salmon
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
- ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 large eggs, well beaten
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups fine dry bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons butter
Preparation:
Turn salmon and liquid into a medium mixing bowl. Flake with a fork, removing OR mashing any bones (they are edible). Mix in grated onion, parsley and pepper. Mix beaten eggs with salmon. Add enough bread crumbs, about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, to make thick enough to shape into 12 small patties. Roll patties in 1/2 cup bread crumbs. In a large heavy skillet over low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter; add patties. Fry patties slowly on one side; add remaining butter, turn patties and fry until brown on the other side.Last edited by roseofblack25; Mon, Jan 7th, 2013 at 10:40 PM.
