He said the song was a parody of the well-to-do Gangnam area and the self-indulgent mentality of the rich people there. (So please, no one take that video seriously!) It makes DH's nephew dance though, and that's good enough for me.

If your friend went to his concert taking pictures of herself, while Psy was singing about ridiculously self-absorbed people, the irony would really be too much.

I go to Gangnam all the time! It's the only area in Seoul where you can't openly smoke in public, they have special areas.

I was at a Food safety training seminar at work today, and there was this younger girl openly texting on her blackberry during the 6 hr lesson.
The teacher was getting really annoyed.

lol, I lived in Korea for 7 years and I swear it was a national past time (taking photos of oneself), especially on the train. They were also obsessed with taking pictures of themselves with the food they were eating at restaurants. I never quite understood it!

And how they always cover part of their face to make it look smaller? I swear to God in most photos of me with Koreans they're just covering their faces with their hands, all you can maybe see is their eyes!

Sorry you had a horrible time. I know people like that as well.

They like to bug me cause I'm the only one out my group of friends/peers/coworkers/family that DOESN'T own an iPhone. My simple answer to them is "I would much rather have a regular phone that texts and makes phonecalls, rather than an item that takes the conversation out of conversation."

They have no idea how stupid they look trying to have a conversation face to face with someone AND their noses buried in their iPhones. It's so rude.

Same goes for cameras and 1700 exact pictures of themselves on facebook at one event. So stupid.
