I'm just thinking about surprise today for some reason. I purchased gifts and wrapped them for all my family before I left for the winter. We usually give everyone gift cards to choose what they would like, and as normal all the dd's with children, use the money to get things for the kids or house. Sooo, this year it's going to be different and we're doing Christmas morning by skype so we can see there faces. Since the packages are at a friends house, nobody knows. I can't wait!
As far as receiving, on our first anniversay, my dh gave me a beautiful 1 carot diamond ring so I was thinking the other day, for our 32nd anniversay can I have a repeat of year 1, only remember that it's 32 years now
What was the best surprise you ever gave, or did for another person?

My ex girlfriend was great at surprises. Mostly shocking ones.
But I think the best surprise I ever had was when pop bought me the used 1976 Subaru Brat I badly wanted when I was a kid (which got destroyed by mother nature in a flood months later)

My children.
I was told that I would never have kids, so I was very surprised (and terrified!) when I found out I was pregnant with DS1.
I was surprised when I found out about DD, as I thought DS1 was a miracle, then there is my youngest....I missed one pill and got pregnant with him.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Holly - wow, I can't wait to see the 32 ct ring!!!
Interesting topic to think about - and makes me think I haven't been surprized too many times!
But now that I think about it, my biggest surprize gift was for our one year anniversary too. No, not sparkly, but better (in my eyes)...
My husband came home that day with two kittens for me! It was the most amazing thing ever - because he doesn't like cats, but knew how deeply I did, and that I hadn't had any for a few years.
And, since then, he's gone above and beyond indulging me in my crazy cat lady ways.Last edited by Natalka; Thu, Nov 15th, 2012 at 01:56 PM.

Marrying a co-worker 15 year after we met. (Celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2013) It's one of those funny things that we barely spoke when we worked in the same department for seven years. We became friends by chance after I moved to another department, and went out for breakfast on Fridays (with another co-worker) at the local diner for about 5 years before we started dating.

The day my daughter finally called me "Mommy". She was 26 months. She's still mostly non-verbal, but has continued calling me Mommy!

Nice thread Holly
The best surprise I've gotten lately was a hand made card in the mail from my oldest DS. Some of you know that I've had a lot of problems with him and he's been living with his father since March. Anyway, the card was beautiful and had the sweetest, most touching letter inside I've ever gotten!! For a child that isn't very good at sharing his emotions, he sure put his whole heart into what he wrote to me. My favorite line was "I love you more than Kraft Dinner and Stuffing" LOL!Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur... happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr purr purr

3 years of trying to get pregnant with no success and awaiting expensive fertility treatments. Then we went on vacation, weren't even trying, and came home with a bun in the oven!
