Wife needs new bras, and she basically only knows of La Vie En Rose & La Senza in the mall, telling me it's hard to find a bra that fits...

I realize this, but aren't there more places to look than just those two in the mall? I REALLY don't want to go to the mall!!!

    Just a question

Winners, Wal-Mart and Zellers. My local Sears has a bra-fitter on staff. Someone suggested Giant Tiger in another forum.

I also go to a specialized lingerie store where all the salesladies are trained bra-fitters. I tell them what my budget limit is and I'll buy the bra when I find one that fits. Then I'll wait until the same model comes on sales and buy a couple more.

I went to a local specialty bra store and ending up writing down the brand, style and size I wore and purchased it online. I found the brand on Ebay and I also purchased from figleaves.com (Its a UK store).

I found it was cheaper to pay for shipping and taxes then it was to purchase from the specialty store!

It all depends on her cup and shape. I wear a 38 J, so I have no choice but to go to the specialty stores. There are a few bras at Addition-elle in the 38 H, but those are few and far between.
If she needs bigger cups like I do, then go to a specialty shop, get measured properly and spend the extra money, there is nothing worse than a bra that does not fit properly.

gonna have to say to go online for a specialty bra store. most of the stores listed above do not actually sell GOOD supportive bras. She says she has trouble with fit, so I would stay away from many of them or else you're wasting your money. I've shelled out money for VS, la vie en rose, la senza, Walmart, maternity stores, Sears and was never happy with ANY of them despite knowing my correct size. For me its all about the materials and I need a good quality bra made of good materials that won't lose its shape so fast (bras are meant to stretch out but some of the cheaper ones stretch within.......weeks!! They lose their supportive qualities and are just pretty much junk.

    I now buy online!

i stay away from the gimmicky lingerie stores in the malls, i am never satisfied with the quality. la vie en rose, victoria's secret etc.

i have bought all of mine from Dept stores for almost 20 yrs.

lately, i love the Olga line, and specificly their bras that have a racerback type V shape with the shoulder straps. it is totally like a normal bra, but the shoulder straps come in slightly at the back so THEY NEVER FALL OFF YOUR SHOULDERS

yes, i meant to shout ;p

they never slip, fall or anything. and the fabric is very nice, they are functional bras but they feel very nice. i barely notice i am wearing a bra.

they are usually $38, and quite often on sale for about 30% off. I buy at the Bay, but i think Sears might carry them, i am not sure.

I like the ones from Aerie, but it depends upon the size. The largest that they sell is 38C, so if you need something larger than this store won't work.

Any department stores have great quality in my opinion - and are on par (or even more) with the other 'popular' lingerie stores.

Depending on your budget, maybe a gift certificate to a close non-franchise lingerie store. I have found that if I am able to buy quality bra's like wacoal at $50-$80 for one, it is worth it, rather than getting 3-4 $20 ones. They last longer, and fit me better. Once she knows her size in a good brand, she can shop online.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned this.

Your a man, I'm sorry but even if you know her size you cannot just go out and buy a bra for your wife UNLESS she is B cup or smaller.

If I can't find a bra on my own even with trying them on then I hardly think my husband would be able to even if I told him the size. Not all bras fit the same. Just because you are a 40D doesn't mean all bras in that size will fit, I assure you of this. The bigger the breasts the harder to shop for bras and I know that from experience.

I would suggest going shopping for it together that way you can give your input on what colour/style/fabric you like and she can try to find one that fits and supports well.
