Had an item ring through at the wrong price this morning and didnt notice until I later checked my receipt. I went to customer service to have the mistake fixed and when saying I would like to use their SCOP poilcy, I was told that Walmart has changed their policy to only include food! I am thinking I was fed a line of BS, but thought I would ask fellow SmartCanucks before I make a report.

Since it's the law only in Quebec, I think you need to get more info on that. Call WM head office.
In other provinces, since it's voluntary, a store doesn't even have to use it.

The scanning code of practice policy is posted on each cash register so I know they are supposed to be taking part in it. I have used it many times before without problems

Call the manager of the store and explain. If they can't handle the issue you can call the number listed on those SCOP signs and they are supposed to handle the issue.

Another question regarding the SCOP. I purchased a movie at WM and after checking my sales slip, saw that it was rung in as $15.99. The price tag on it was $3.97. When I was at the customer service, I asked for a SCOP. I was told no that some had put a lower price tag on over the higher tag. While I did get the lower price and my money returned, I was miffed because I didn't get the SCOP AND the CSM looked at me as if I had did this trying to scam the store. Should I have gotten a SCOP? Should I have complained? Or was it just me getting the wrong sign from them?

they lied to you....in Qc, they don't have the choice to apply the SCOP policy on everything.....it's the law

You did get a SCOP. Since the item clearly had a tag displaying the price you were entitled to get the product at the price the tag said. Since she gave you the movie for $3.97 that is a SCOP.
SCOP does not always mean free. I do not mean to sound rude by saying this (but there is no other way to phrase it) please educate yourself on SCOP rules, knowing what you are talking about is half the battle.
"When the item has a price tagged, the lowest price applies. When identical items are incorrectly priced, the second one will be sold at the correct price. Under this code you are eligible"Last edited by CrazyQT; Sun, Dec 30th, 2012 at 06:42 PM.
