CanadianCouponCollector, how about a movie night theme. This could include a DVD(s), pop corn bowl, popcorn, candy, and soft drinks, if it is for a family.

Anyone know where I could find big clear glass tree ornament balls for cheap? Do they usually come to dollarama or something like that, or am I going to have to try somewhere more expensive? I don't want to pay more than 25c per ball.

I'm wanting to make a set of those balls that are glittery on the inside.

Michael's has theirs out already...but they are not cheap, I did not look at the price. I wish you luck in your search! If you have friends you can go with I would go with a bunch of 40% off coupons in tow. I haven't seen them at dollarama, but if they do they will probably be $3 now.

Bought another stocking stuffer today. Think I'm ready to fill a stocking for one person and see how much room I have left since I'm almost done

I need to brag- I think I have my son's xmas stuff all done! I Clearance!

    Here is what I have:
$3.00 Scatterpillar game (Bought this two years ago with the $10 Hasbro coupons, put it in my stockpile and haven't needed it yet, and now he is old enough.)

$8.00 incl shipping Batmobile by Mattel (this is a big toy! I ordered this, not knowing, from NCIX when it was posted on the SC blog. He will love it! Originally $30.00 @ WM)

$10.00 incl shipping Dragon Fire Rocket (ordered this from NCIX at the same time- sells @ mastermindtoys for $22.99)

$17.25 MegaBlocks BLOK SQUAD Build your own Heros kit (has three adventure kits in one!) (Originally $45.00 @ Sears)

$4.52 A set of Adeline Books (Found @ Value Village in new condition!!)

~$5.00 with tax I bought an XXL tall Man's thermal shirt @ Old Navy clearance last year to make him PJ's for this year. I make him and I a new pair of jammies every year for Christmas Eve.

    Stocking Stuffers:
$1.13 Knex- introduction kit for truck (@WM! marked down from the reduced price of $5.00)
$2.26 Batman Straw cup (with candy treats in it! also WM)
$1.50ish Change Colour Bath Sponge @ RCSS Clearance - This thing is super cool!
$1.13 Matchbox Colour change Range Rover @ Honest Ed's when I was in TO)

This puts me @ $54.29 in total so far for him. I will watch for reduced candy/chocolates @ Halloween and then I know he is done!

Now if I could only think of something to get DH........ he wants a motorcycle! LOL!
ROAK a Huggies or Pampers code to my local pregnancy centre- toys, clothes, food & diapers always needed!

Hi Folks! Just dropping by. My nephews are getting past the point where I can find neat stuff and make a "theme" gift for Christmas. They are more into electronics now.
I think it was Cinpow who posted on the Frugal Wiki that she found some "App-Gear" characters on clearance at Walmart - originally about $10. Selling for .75 - that's right.
I picked up 3 - 2 for stocking stuffers for nephews and 1 for stocking stuffer for my step-daughter's step-son - I think that makes me a "Step-Step Granny" (Sounds like a song!)
I also picked up a "Nasty Birds StarWars Jenga" (how's that for combining "winning" themes?) for $15 and a Cranium Game for $5.

I already have a Christmas stockpile that takes up 3 storage bins - dh is pressing me to cut it down.
Here's to all you great SC'ers

Avon have you looked on ebay for electronics items? They have all sorts of cases, screen protectors, chargers, etc. available for a couple bucks a pop. If they have cellphones or ipods that would make a great gift!

Thought I'd share a great idea I found...

I'd never thought of using a crockpot to make hot chocolate, but I saw a pin about it. Why not use your crockpot (or many crockpots) at the holiday parties/dinners/luncheons etc to make hot chocolate in and to keep it warm all evening? You could do hot apple cider in it too. No burning or scorching, just kept pleasantly toasty warm.

Imagine having a little line of crockpots full of different hot chocolate flavors at a big get-together!

It works. It is a fantastic idea, especially @ Christmas. I do this all the time for my mulled wine and meatballs when I entertain. If there is a sauce for something, it goes in my 2 quart crock. My crocks sit on the one corner of my table closest to the plug on the buffet table and everyone can help themselves!
