I think the last time I was in this area was 3 weeks ago (I think) and they still had some holes in the walls.

But the Mall locations from the road has the signs and everything up.

You know I actually drive by that way several times a week and never look. LOL. I was P.O'd for so long because they closed off the cut threw area from the one plaza to the other and I kept forgetting and then would see it and have to go back and around.

I'm pretty sure they would be all sealed up by now as if they are planning to be open for "spring" it should be mostly just the inside set up that needs to be done. One would hope atleast. I'll make it my mission to take look tomorrow since I have to go over that way again.

I personally highly doubt they will, retailers do it in the states because they have to compete. No one in Canada wants to be the first to do it even though they really are not losing money between the manufacturing reimbursing and there mark up they are not selling below cost. The closest we have come is being able to use coupon zone coupons and manufacture coupons together and even that was only at selected stores and I am not sure but I have heard PC has put a stop to this. I would like to see someone start this but sadly the facts seem to show this is highly unlikely.

I asked they said it's a new area.I took that response as no.They want to suck as much money as possible from the Canadian customers.

And this is what will make me PM them at WM. I'm sorry but you have to offer me some type of advantage over the current place I shop and if you're not going to offer overages, stacking of a MFR with a Store Coupon and/or possibly limit my coupon use then I'll stick with WM as although they sometimes leave me with a bad taste in my mouth I go home and brush my teeth and then go back again.

The RCSS I was doing stacking at has now said no way and they are actually starting to enforce the one per person/family on the back of CZ's so that you can only even use one of those. They have become very uncouponfriendly in the last 6 months or so I would say.

I know what store you are talking about and they have become very un coupon and price match friendly. I found I was spending more and more of my time fighting with them than it would take me to do my shopping.

Target will need to offer something to make me shop there. From what I have seen I do not think they will be offering anything any better than what we already have. They are dancing around the questions and keep commenting "we are slowly moving into the marketplace after time we will re exam things and go from there" meaning unless we HAVE to we won't be.

I don't think I will be shopping at Target either.They aren't giving us the store we want.I can pricematch at CT,London Drugs and Walmart if there is any good deals at Target.

They are probably not giving an exact date due to Delays.. they don't want to lock themselves down with a Apr 15th open date only to find out they have to push the date later due to stock arrival delays, staff training, construction.. they want to make sure they are ready to open on time... and i'm sure when they announce the opening date of a store... the info will travel through town like wildfire lol

Not all the Zellers locations are switching to Target. My sister-in-law just updated me about the one in her area Cornwall, ontario---they just plan to divide the old Zellers location into smaller stores--no Target!
Oh, well. I guess she will just have to shop on the US side!

That's exactly why there will be no Target in Cornwall.People can easily go to Target in Plattsburgh.I think there is an old saying why stay on the farm when you can see Paris.Target Canada is the farm and Target US is Paris.

i emailed target to ask them about their coupon policy. you can stack a manufacturers coupon with a target coupon for the same product (unless the coupon stipulates otherwise)

i remember when old navy opened here.. there was practically a line out the door and around the building.. just to go in.. that doesn't even consider the line ups for the change rooms

walmart superstore was the same (regular walmart closed and moved into a fresh new building and became a superstore.. ) technically walmart's doors were only closed for 1 day but my gosh you could not find parking anywhere at the whole mall complex! it took 20 min just to leave the parking lot on opening day with how bad the traffic was.. i'm excited for target.. BUT.. i'm not going to rush out opening day if i don't need to do some big box store shopping

people might WANT to know exact dates, and might think they DESERVE to know exact dates.

until the company has an exact date set with no forseeable hiccups, hangups, delays and screwups, they won't be releasing those dates.

they don't owe anyone anything. i'm sure 1 day notice will be more than adequate for 99.9% of ppl out there. the .01%, well they will just have to find some tasks to keep themselves busy, and their minds occupied until then

Now, to make things even better, as soon as a Target store in my area announces the opening day, I want the Walmarts, Home Depots, Home Hardwares, Loblaws etc. to have their own great sale. Just like at the Walmart Anniversary sale in September.

For SCers in Durham Region,
Whitby, Oshawa and Ajax stores open in the Spring.
Pickering and Bowmanville stores open in the Fall.

Was working in Lindsay this week and Lindsay's store opens in the Spring.


Strange thing - along highway 401 from Newcastle to Kingston, there are no Target stores planned, even at former Zellers locations. Kingston has some stores opening.
