...well, that pre-prepared food might as well be pre-digested for all the good it does people!!
Just had a mock danish for lunch: 2oz cream cheese, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tbsp lemon juice all beaten up, slipped into a Pam'd bowl, a little dollop of all fruit jam, nuked for 2 1/2 minutes and YUM!! I could live on the stuff!!
Dinner will be roast chicken, mock rice ('riced' cauliflower), asparagus spears drizzled with butter and balsamic vinegar and baked, and salad for hubby with it...on course!!

I don't think I'll eat cauliflower any other way!!
I used my Starfrit pully thingy to "rice" raw cauliflower florets and a bit of stem, then just plopped them into a heavy pan with butter and slowly fried them up! Towards the end I shredded some parmesan cheese into it, gave it a good stir and omg!! Delishious! IF you're doing low carb. If you're counting calories, steam the "rice", toss with salt and pepper and it should be almost as good. Toss in some parmesan if your calorie count allows!
Next time I'm going to try it whipped like smashed potatoes!

Walks, the roasted cabbage using that recipe was really nice! The slices almost caramelized...we'll definitely be doing that again!
Down .6 lbs since Friday.

Is this a healthy eating thread? Mind if I join you?
I am trying to climb back into my wagon right now, with both exercise and eating. I did great over the holidays maintaining and then in the new year its like I gave myself a pat on the back and rewarded myself a bit of freedom and I ran with it.
10lbs up from where I would like to be before I start pulling out last years summer clothes. I will be doing a juice reboot next week to reset my tastebuds and most of all habits! And I want to incorporate more raw or veggie options in my diet like the cauliflower mentioned above which I havent tried yet. I am hooked on "zoodles" though and have no problem taking those over pasta any day.
I also have a date with my trainer next Tuesday after my 4 day camping trip full of butter chicken, tacos, eggs and bacon, potstickers, marshmellows and way too much alcohol! The Brookside I am not a fan of thankfully. I was able to part with all my samples and my mom loved them. If you mean the SDM Lindt and Tobelerone....they are in my crisper where veggies and good things should be. LOL And its a terrible thing for the healthy eating but i have a feeling my roommate will put a big dent in them over the weekend while I am gone.
I will report back on Monday or Tuesday so that I can be accountable for my choices. Will weigh in with my trainer on Tuesday and report any losses Friday! yes!! Some of us have buns in the oven ( and I do not mean the kind smothered in brown sugar and cinnamon ) that allow us to gain with no guilt!! ha ha
vw, most have us have had great success with losing 50 lbs+ but then many of us have gained it back and added to it. We are all at various stages in life so the excuses are never ending why we did not do well each week, BUT......we still tiptoe back in here every now and again with our tails between our legs and start fresh again.
Welcome to the group, oh and what is that thing you spoke about??? a trainer?? Is that a type of danish?

Speaking of coming back with our tails between our legs...won't get into it but me and my pot belly are back. Gotta get serious, I feel just gross and have put on a lot of weight.Want to drop 30 pounds, taking the slow and steady approach.Will be checking in!!

hi thrifyg, yup I have one as well ( pot belly) so you are in great company. Welcome back and good luck with your plan ( slow and steady )
oh and Lynn I AM still here, just not behaving as well as I had thought I would last week. So the only solution to overcome my guilt was to join the guys for a big breakfast this a.m. ( courtesy of my DS ) at our favourite joint.....have I got that rule right? Feed the guilt, starve a fever??

Well its Tuesday and I said I would be here! I did have an overindulgent weekend and enjoyed it sooooo much. I too have a pot belly and it is not going to fit into last years shorts if i don't smarten up! Going to visit my gym tonight, which I haven't been to since last August. I know once I get about 3 days of working out done it will help the motivation and also help change the food relationship. My eating always seems to fall under control when I am getting regular exercise.
