Lost a bet so I have to make lasagna for a family member.

Does anyone know a really good vegetarian recipe?

This is what I do, I find it easier to roll them up this way. My stuffing is tofu, spinach , basil , oregano, if they are cheese eating vegetarians you could use ricotta and parmesan instead of tofu. I sprinkle nutritional yeast on top.

I also sautee mushrooms and onions and cover the top then put my tomato sauce on it.

Thank you Patty! That is a fabulous idea. I love the idea of rolling it up.

Change of strategy for this week. During the day smoothies only about 30 oz each (strawberry, lettuce , cucumber, flax seed).

Going off wheat for the week to see if that helps. I am starting to think I am a little wheat intolerant. Fell bloated etc. Hoping this kick starts a new weigh loss pattern.

So sad. This must stop. Processed food will be the death of us.

All the processed foods that are out there haven't even begun to take a toll on humans.

I have a neighbour who lost 25 pounds over the last year by eliminating everything white in her diet. No white flour products. No rice, pasta, bread etc. She not only feels better, but is for the first time in her 50 years is becoming aware of what she eats.

Did you know that most people do not even know how to read labels?

Thanks to all of you on this thread for raising awareness and encouraging us to eat better.

    Good Health to all!~!

Agree, so much. We tend to fall off the wagon on the weekends. Seems like relaxing watching movies, hanging out by the pool etc. is a signal to buy crap. lol Must stop thinking about food as entertainment and comfort.

I have pledged to only go out once a week an do groceries in 2 places. I am avoiding traditional stores like IGA, Maxi, Costco. Sticking to Same Fruits and Kim Phat for a few other things.

It's all just breaking bad habits. Just like giving up Tim's , McDo, etc.

So true Patty. Like when we are camping...it s time to buy junk. Things I would never buy like hot dogs, chips and lemonade and don't forget s'more stuff!!
We ended up going to a friends cottage instead and have some of that gross stuff left.
I am not doing that again!!
I think I will save treats for when we go out to dinner (once a month)or when we out at friends and family

It's really tough in the summer, oh boy. People always think it's easier in the summer because you are out and exercising more but I find it's the opposite. Temptation everywhere. Worst part is there are so few healthy places to grab a quick snack.

Just read the last few posts above and I agree about the whole food industry sabotage. We are set up to fail unless we can shop with blinders on. Yes Loocie, reading labels is a must and it does take time, I do it now, but may not have when the kids were younger, so I really sympathize with young families.
Whether it is gluten fee, or eliminating the " white " foods, there just has to be something to it, I know I lost that 50 lbs last year simply from changing my diet ( no working out at all) .
Patty, that bloaty feeling, I get it anytime I reintroduce gluten back into my diet, like for example at the Drive In last night!
    ( agh!! who can resist?)
So I am way back up on the scale now, back to square one for me I guess. It took from April to July 2012 to lose that 50 lbs, and it really was not a struggle, as I was " in the zone ", nothing tempted me, but now?? Geesh, talk about a weakling!
I have been waiting for the mood to hit me again, to feel inspired to start eating clean, but it really is a challenge when the rest of the house is not as enthusiastic. Oh they will eat healthy if I do all the planning, shopping, and cooking, otherwise it seems whatever is easiest wins out. Yikes, bummer post, sorry guys.

I'll tell you one thing, I am glad I do not work. I can't imagine being able to prepare all this food and working also. Of course people are going to buy boxed stuff. It's easier, little preparation and bloody hell people are tired when they come home from work.

My long term goal is to have not one box in the house. Not sure if that will ever happen, kids, cravings, sabotage .

On a high note I am loving walking out in to the garden getting fresh lettuce and cucumbers for my smoothies. Even my dad had a glass with me at lunch today. He loved it. He cannot have too much raw food since his operation, another obstacle in my quest for clean/raw eating, oh well. The smoothies are ok for him though.

Love the idea of no boxes. I just looked in my cupboard. I have : organic Mac and cheese, 2 boxes of cliff bars, brown rice, organic and gf pasta, dried beans and lentils, krofers organic jams, organic broth (6), oils:olive, coconut, sesame ,spelt bread crumbs (organic), stupid s'more stuff!!, Barbara's animal crackers, extra:organic-ketchup , salad dressing, salsa, tomato sauce, spices, organic sugars, assorted gf baking products. I also have organic beer for company. In April I tried to cut out all foods that were nonorganic and GMO laiden. I noticed a big difference in everyone's mood and concentration levels. Next step no boxes--love it
