Actually, I'm quite surprised that I can have a strip of bacon on some days with breakfast! I haven't yet....but omg, it's so tempting!! That would really put a nice twist on my toasted tomato sandwiches in the morning! Of course I love my oatmeal even more, so I have that most mornings..

I am really disappointed with The Biggest loser this season. They seem to have all kinds of sponsors for packaged foods. I also notice you never see what the contestants eat anymore. Doesn't this seem a little odd? Shouldn't they be educating everyone on what to eat.

Good morning, Patty...I didn't pick up on the fact that they're not showing what they're eating this year so far, but I did notice the abundance of BL pre-packaged foods they're hawking. So much for "learning how to prepare healthy meals yourself"!
I imagine that if the contestants are shown eating, it'll be that swill.
Have there been Subway commercials this year? I can't remember seeing them.....I wonder if now they only want us eating their pre-digested foods........
I'm also so over that whiny, crying dame who lost the most weight last time! Can she finally stop that crap?!! Pam? Is that her name? Grow up, Lady!! I'm really not enjoying this season as much as I have others...can't put my finger on why.....

I still love the biggest loser. I was upset when TC left. I think he really needed to be there. The poor man to do that to his baby boy so sad, I could not live with myself if I did that.

    Happy Tuesday, everyone!!!
I hope everyone is sticking to their promises to themselves and working towards
a healthy summer....not to mention a "svelte" one!!
    Keep up the great work!!

Our DD called this morning...would we like to join her for lunch at Pat&Marios.....good grief. And she's on Herbal Magic (down to a size 6-8) and I'm on SHRED.....so I had my fruit smoothie this morning..she's already had her 1 meal + snack...She'll have a chicken salad, and I'll likely have their roasted red pepper soup....or...grilled fish? We had fish last night. And we're cooking up a small turkey today so that we'll have some nice sandwiches for the next couple of days' lunches...
    Well...just another challenge!!

    Have a great day, everyone!!!

Hmph, Abby! I used to do this also...and it used to be because I felt deprived of something...So now I don't deprive myself of anything...if I feel like a handfull of Goldfish, I have them. But I don't have the whole bag...lol...The other evening I had crackers and cranberry-covered goat cheese...and again the next night. But the next day, back to normal...my diet.
It's just important not to crucify ourselves for little mistakes. Or big ones. Don't sabotage a day because of a slip-up....usually those slips don't mean a darn thing in the course of a day or a week.....I'm still down 1.2lbs since Friday's weigh-in, even with gorging on cheese and crackers...because I went right back on my diet and stuck to it.....

    (sorry this is so large....)

It used to be on the biggest loser they would have kitchen segments where they showed the peeps learning healthy recipes but now seem sthey are not into that. I read an article where they say they starve themselves before the final weigh in sometimes for days. I am not so sure how much of a reality show it is anymore or if it ever was. I also don't believe that they haven't had skin surgery befor th efinal weigh in. Watch as the sow progresses the men will no longer remove their shirts for weigh in . I am sure they are having their"man boobs" fixed. You can't lose 100 lkbs and not have skin. I know i'm just repeatng myslef but anyhoo. lol

Gonna try this soon. Oranges have been great this year. I may add more spices to this though.

Rice Salad with Fennel, Orange and Chickpeas
From Forks Over Knives – The Cookbook
    Serves 4
    Ingredients:

      • 1½ cups brown basmati rice
      • 2 cups cooked chickpeas, or one 15-ounce can, drained and rinsed
      • 1 fennel bulb, trimmed and diced
      • 1 orange, zested, peeled, and segmented (zest and segments reserved)
      • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
      • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
      • ¼ cup finely chopped parsley

good afternoon fellow losers! Well, I am miffed! Really happy for him though. DH had decided to try the GF life with me for a month ( he is the WORST for eating bready/cakey/rolly/doughy types of things ) Well I am not the GF police, he is an adult and if he cheated a little while I was sleeping how would I know? That bas***d lost 8.5 lbs in as little as 4 days?!! I was doing my own weight Friday, and he ambled by and out of curiousity thought he'd get a starting weight for himself. So we both saw that number! he is now 8.5 lbs less.
Hey Lynn I remember you posting the aggravation that men do lose it faster than us ladies. Well he is now ignited!! I told him GF would accelerate his weight loss. So happy.

You're absolutely correct! I also believe they have skin removed (if not a little lipo to even out some stubborn spots!)....even with my loss of 50lbs I've got a jiggle going on under my arms for heaven's sake! Yep...first clue is that the guys' tops stay on. To hide surgical scars! Don't the girls also cover up with their t-shirts for the weigh-ins also, near the end? If I lost over 100lbs, I sure wouldn't hide under a t-shirt unless I was scarred from surgery!
Sigh.....yes I recall those cooking scenes..now they just want us to gulp down their frozen dinners! Not gonna happen!!
