I made a new dish last night, it turned out to be a big hit.
Chili Mac
3 jars homemade tomato sauce (3L)
4 peppers ( i had 2 red and 2 yellow)
4 onions
3 cans red kidney beans
1 package 454g elbow macaroni
1 cup nutritional yeast (optional)
spices - chili powder, garlic, pepper
Chop peppers and onions, saute in a big pot until soft( I start things off with water not oil but you can use oil if you want)
add tomato
cook 20 minutes
add spices
add rinsed beans
cook 30 minutes
precook macaroni set aside
add macaroni and nutritional yeast(this can be optional)
cook 15 minutes
It will get really thick so maybe add a little water if you find it too much.
I think this will become a staple in the house, it pretty much has all you need in one bowl.Last edited by Patty Smyth; Fri, Feb 8th, 2013 at 11:48 AM.

I opened the fridge around noon, then it began.....
and it did not stop till I was done!!
Not eating but....cleaning it!! Gleaming and fresh smelling, I still want to toss some jars of stuff out, but DH and some others here have emotional attachments to them. I'll give them till next month to eat that crap up. lol

Wow. We both must have spring fever. That's been on my list of 'things to do' this week that I never got around to doing.
BUT had a blast shopping with DD all morning...that just makes me SO happy!!
We did go to Kelsey's for lunch, and probably both slipped off our diets, but no worries...back on it now.

I rewarded myself w 2.5 handfuls of chips this afternoon after 2 h of shovelling. I am pretty sure my shovelling outweighs my reward. But no more!!! I won't drink any Coke though for a reward as it seems to Pandora's box for me.

I really like it. You just dont have full site capabilities. You can read, post, send messages, but have to go to the site to read the blog, edit, do reps...etc. Then again, I am a total Noob to this technology.

Wow. If I thought I woke up with a sore knee (had to take 2 Xtra Strength Tylenol to go shopping with DD), right now I can't even bend it to walk! I just sat in this chair with a whimper. Sad, yes.....
But just watch: when we get to our dr's appt later this month it'll be just peachy-keen. I do want x-rays on that knee and my shoulder on the same side....getting old surely isn't for wimps!
Keep up the good work, everyone!
Kw01ai: good girl re the no chips and pop thing. Embracing a new way of living and eating means cutting out the poisons in our foods...no one needs that fat on our thighs from the chips, and the acid in our tummies from that brown sludge.
See? When you think of foods that way, doesn't it make easier to stop eating them?
I_forget: that would have been a great idea! Had I thought of it.....but since we don't eat out much, thank goodness, it's pretty easy to avoid those foods. But thank you...should I ever venture there again I'd love to try that. Although it still seems to me like those veggies would be all flacid from frying and soaking in oil....?Last edited by Lynn49; Fri, Feb 8th, 2013 at 08:06 PM.

Snow day messed me up and I forget to weigh myself. Back in the am with the truth. Not sure if the 4 gym workouts will be a good thing. Sometimes more workouts actually mess me up.

I did the fridge as part of my power clean on Thursday too , it was on my list, as sheets was coming to help and we were gonna drink the leftover boxed wine. Hard to keep to much in stock with you and WOB around though
Why is it that the fridge can get so disorganized and messed so quickly???
We all need a little sunshine every now and then
