I confess. I love Tim Horton's croissants!!! They have been replacing other unhealthier things in my diet…time to find a replacement for them.

Good news, I may have been paging people who were on the roof shoveling (opps my bad) but at the end of the day all of the cupcakes were gone and I did not eat one.

Okay. No Tim's Croissants for the week. Challenge accepted. Thanks for posting the Nutritional Info, it certainly helped! lol.
So we are all clear…they were all free with a Tim card that was gifted…so still frugal.
Frugal, but deadly.

Ugh. I saw that on the news today, Patty. How sad..."food addiction". Um. Sure. The gal with the medical reason I can understand, but geez!
Good news parents! You can let your kids gorge themselves on crap now because they can hand their problem....ahem...addiction...to a surgeon to make it all better! Truly, truly a sad, slippery slope.
Ashley! Good for you! Don't you feel virtuous now?
Granger, not eating empty calories that will eventually clog your arteries and lead you into surgery for stent insertions is just not worth it, Hon. I wish I had eaten healthier when I was young; I wouldn't be in the "shape" I'm in now. Use me as a bad example if you want to. It's easy to fall into the trap of "I'm young, I don't gain weight, so I can eat whatever I want!"
Catches up with us, Granger.....unfortunately....You'll do fine without then; they're not doing you any favours and neither is Tim's. good luck giving them up forever!

I really do think (and call me crazy if you want to) that the powers that be, the industrialists, the ones in power who really run our countries, feed us crap as food to slow us down and make us ill (you think their families eat that crap?!) so that the pharmaceuticals can make their fair share of the profits "curing" what shouldn't be wrong with us in the first place, keeping us sluggish and ambivalent about life in general, feeding us garbage on tv to dull our brains (you think their families watch reality tv where each show is dedicated to pitting people against each other for entertainment?!), to keep us from noticing that the middle class is disappearing, the poor are getting poorer, while they're raking in the money, growing wealthier at our expense and for the most part, we're all wearing rose-coloured glasses without a worry in the world, thinking someone out there is taking care of us, while our bones are being picked clean.
Just sayin'.....

I probably would be, and that would be depressing; the world is still the "big boys' " playground and they're all on the same playing field: no matter whether it's good or bad for people, if it makes them money and if one hand can grease the other, then it's a done deal.
I don't even put any faith (laughable) in the FDA either, since it's in the same league with big money. If anyone wants more independent research and results/warnings, the WHO is the one to turn to. But...lol...I don't really trust them, either. However, their original recommendations on the dangers of aspartame certainly came true and many countries forbid its use. But North America? Oh, it's just peachy fine to use it! Why? FDA/big business/lobbyists buying off politicians....it's scary for sure, Patty, when anyone starts peeling off the layers....And who suffers? Middle class and more-so for the poor who just believe whatever they're told is okay for them, who wear those rose-coloured glasses and obey without question. Lemmings.
So sad, but so very true.

What really gets me is that companies like Monsanto and Dupont make big donations to the universities and control things at that level. What university is going to publish that BPH or Roundup is " alarming" or "toxic above industry standards" when their funding could be cut at any time.

thank you both Patty and Lynn, yes place me in that " call me crazy " category too. I soon realized many of my illnesses were directly related to the food (poison) I was eating. I wanted no part of taking a cholesterol pill forever or a diabetic pill either, so I nipped the damage before it could become a problem.
Watching others younger than me get diagnosed with these two things was enough to make me change some things. I am a work in progress though, navigating around all the " doo doo " ( processed crap food in the grocery aisles) is tough going. When all advertising sings at you " it's fun, it's delicious " " you deserve this! " it takes a strong will to resist.

That was really something, Patty; I recall when your DH was posting about the changes he made and the differences it made in his life! Absolutely amazing, the conspiracy (yes, I'll say it!) to keep us all sick, knee-deep in pharmaceuticals!

Walks, those "delicious" foods are pure chemicals. Might as well go out and sip swamp water for all the good they do us. I know that since Monday I've only lost about 4 lbs, but the difference eating good, solid food (veggies washed with detergents, not just rinsed!) is making not only physically, but...hard to describe...just in the way I feel. No bloating, I have energy most days which is much better than before!...and generally feeling happier about the way I look and feel! It's not just the weight on this or any good diet, it's the way losing crap makes us feel.
There you go: it's not losing weight, it's losing crap.

Bingo!
the obscenely rich capitalists own North America.
they are evil, evil, evil. They purposely make the selection of real, whole, natural foods just a fraction of what is available in the stores, and you have to still sort through all sorts of manipulated foods to get to the "real" stuff. In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups!
