Loblaws cranberries in the produce department are regularly $1.99/package.
Produce manager marked them down to $0.17 each.

They freeze well and are great poached in orange juice.
Bought PC Pineapple juice, regular $3.99, sale $1.94 (exp. Feb/13)

Plan to poach the cranberries in the pineapple juice

Excellent deal Shwa Girl! What a great idea to poach cranberries in pineapple juice! I love them both and I have never tried the combination. Thank you for posting.

When I worked on cash, a customer (chef) would let me in on her interesting recipes. She taught me about poaching cranberries.

    Thanks for the idea.

Cranberries are good to prevent urinary tract infections in women. (TMI?)

Usually good for a punch when you have Christmas get-to-togethers. The cranberries float on top of the punch.

    Yes.
Produce guy said he marked them down because he needs the shelf space. Said he bought some himself.

Another great use for Cranberries is to sugar them. We have 5 bags of frozen cranberries in the freezer and I know my sis loves them so for Christmas I made sugared cranberries, they were so simple and so amazing.

Soak them in a sugar water mixture over night, than roll them in super fine sugar and let dry. They last about a week and are so so yummy which I have to say shocked me as I really am not a fan of cranberries but I was eating these all night instead of the cookies my step mom had out.

    Yum.
Better than a chocolate bar, as a sweet treat.

aw rats! I would have jumped on that deal. I have about 3 bags left in my freezer from my last WM search for them. DD and I were eating about bag every 2 weeks as a jelly/sauce to put on our turkey breasts on that diet. Oh and Shwa we sweetened it with the powdered Stevia instead of sugar.

Do you just freeze them in the unopened package?

If you want to be fancy, you can put them in a Ziploc freezer bag.
Freeze flat, so you can take out individual cranberries as you need them. No clumping.
