i've seen the documentary.

it seems that the offendors and the enablers all think that they are greater than God. that they are accountable to no one for their actions.

everyone from the nuns who turn a blind eye to the fancy pants guy who hides behind bullet proof glass (no matter who that guy is at any given time in history)

how can an organization be so thoroughly corrupt?

it is truly sad that so many ppl who have fought within the organization to put an end to these abominations have had every obstacle put in front of them.

nice to know he was perfectly happy sentencing young children to lives of misery, abuse and humiliation.

the is no sign of piety or humility in him. i doubt there is any in the ppl surrounding him either.

My father took me to Germany and we went to an operating Catholic cathedral. There was an elaborate iron grill separating the churchgoers from the priests, who were floating around in the dim light in long black robes...spooky! And my dad said oh yeah that's totally their game. In Europe you have these gilded buildings full of dark characters and oh boy is it a mind game. Here in Canada our church was a portable and everybody just wore their Sunday get up. There is no visible representation of the churches' power. You question more, because the power show is not there.

Pomp and circumstance....provides them the distance they require from the "rabble", the "unwashed masses",or,..the "sheep".
"Sheep". What an appropriate name.

Cardinal O'Brien "right " to resign before conclave

Cardinal Keith O'Brien's immediate resignation as leader of the Scottish Catholic Church was the right thing to do, according to a Vatican adviser.
Britain's most senior Roman Catholic has been accused of inappropriate behaviour towards priests dating back to the 1980s - claims he contests.
He had been due to take part in the election of Pope Benedict's successor.
Professor John Haldane said it would "not be helpful" for him to go to Rome "under the cloud of these allegations".
The allegations against Cardinal O'Brien emerged in a report in the Observer newspaper on Sunday.
It said three priests and one former priest, from the diocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh, complained to the Pope's representative to Britain, nuncio Antonio Mennini, in the week before 11 February.
The Vatican confirmed on Monday that the cardinal had stepped down from his post.
The move leaves Britain unrepresented in the forthcoming conclave to elect a successor to Pope Benedict XVI.
