What's an advent train? I keep hearing about them but I've only been on two of the package trains so far. You send your buddy something every day or 25 days of items all at the same time?

How about a "My home town" train, where in addition to WL items, you have to send some things that are specific to the town or area you live in?
For example candy made in your town (I am thinking salt water taffy here lol) or a unique item from a Mom and Pop store that no one who doesn't live where you do would ever be able to buy?

I also agree that seeing my buddy open their package and like the stuff is as much fun, if not more fun, than receiving it myself.

The advent train is for Christmas, you send 25 wrapped gifts, numbered and one is opened every day. It's very cool and my kid LOVED it, as did I of course

Lol, I was just thinking of an idea where you send an item for each letter of their name. But I like the Smart Canucks idea that way everyone gets the same amount

They seem a bit confusing if I go to one and read the rules but they seem fun! I don't think I am willing to take the risk of embarassment though

We had one like that last year I think called the name game train..it was super fun!

I think a good idea for the post count (since that is what I received complaints about and spoke to Jezz about) is that buddy questions are PMed to all riders by a conductor/helper to remind them to post those without people feeling required to 'spam'

On another site, we ran a christmas exchange & we used to have 'elves' who were chosen because they could not/did not ride and they would PM your buddy any specific questions you had for them - got people who were just under the post count or could not afford to ride or just wanted to ease in before they participated a chance to interact with them too

The very first limit train was hosted by me and it was the Back to School train last year and you rode it

except me I didn't see the limit train or would have jumped on. I usually see the package trains after boarding closed or their full.
