Still some left on sale, so I bought four. At least my mom should be able to drink them (I hope.)

Yesterday at Freshco, 10x Rice Krispies bars @$2.99 +$3.89 tax = $33.79 less 5x $3 wub 2 coupons and 5x $3 wub 2 from C51 (approved as of this morning) = $3.79 and earned 500 Scene+ points ($5). We don't eat many bars like these so most are set aside for the tx per month ice cream social event my family sponsors at the residence where my mom lives.

It's weird that some store charges tax and some don't.

I remember like last year at Maxi, they charged tax and now there is no tax

I think that they are just forgetting to charge the tax. Those who get the item tax-free, just get a little bonus.

One Walmart wasn't charging me a recycling fee or container deposit when I bought milk, but other Walmart locations did. I think they just mucked up their computer system with a bad entry.

With the PCO offer that most of us received for "earn 5,000 PCO points for every $12.00 spent on Kellogg's products", this is a great week to donate to your local food bank. Those of us on SC know how to stretch our dollars, use coupons and loyalty programs to get the deals and I know many of us donate regularly to those in need. This is what I did yesterday:

In addition to the 5,000 pts per $12.00 spent, I also had PCO offers for Nutri-Grain bars, Kellogg's cereals and No Frills spend $$$ to get 10% in points. Combining those with coupons and CO51 offers, I managed to get a LOT of donations for my local Salvation Army food bank for almost nothing out of pocket! I used points to pay and earned almost equal points back!

Cereal is ALWAYS in demand at food banks and, with kids going back to school in a month, those boxes of Kellogg's bars will be very much appreciated!

It isn't food, but I got 8x 2-kg bags of grass seed for $12.50 each (normally $25) from Lowes. As I was waiting to pay, I was very surprised to hear a lady asking and getting discounts for toys and water hoses from the seasonal department manager. It just reminds me to ask in the future. The worst they can do is say no.

The bad thing about buying so much seed is that, while walking home with all the bags draped over my shoulders, my hands were fully encumbered and I could not even see my toes. The mosquitos buzzed all around and I couldn't even swat or shoo them. It was like swinging arms with 15lb weights attached.

at WM yesterday morning I was stunned at the robust " quality " of the produce bags on the reduced cart. My FOMO saw me grab 8 cobs of corn
( already shucked! ) for $2.00, as well as 1 large cauliflower, 8 ataulfo mangoes and a massive chunk of Jamaican pumpkin!
Each of those bags were only $1.00 !!
Oven roasted the pumpkin last night, ( ate a cup of it mashed with my dinner! ) and transformed the mangoes into a mango salad.
Today I may slice the cauliflower in thick slabs to oven roast, and make a batch of Mexican street corn on the BBQ.

Their pork ribs were on sale for $1.97 per lb. but upon checking in back they said they had none left?? Then in the parking lot a fellow shopper on his cell phone yelled over to me " they found the ribs! ". The 2 of us high tailed it back in to grab a couple of slabs each.
Nice when a few sales can keep the food budget under the boiling point!
