Winter 2013-14 = No Global Warming. Farmer's Almanac says "bitter cold"

I dunno....I think all of us could be meteorologists, don't you think? Like, if you read the almanac carefully for SW Ontario what it REALLY says is, "Gonna be cold from mid-December til mid-February and gonna snow from mid-December til mid-February."

From where I'm standing, that's my definition of "winter!!"

I'm feeling a teeny bit cynical these days about the weather prediction. I told DH he could probably do an equally fine job forecasting with a pair of dice or a Ouija board. hahahaha.

And Environment Canada really ticks me off lately. For example, this latest storm to hit SW Ontario: they were yabbering for days about how a really big event is gonna happen and bring lots of something or other but they didn't seem to have the foggiest idea who was gonna get what, where, how much, or for how long. Frustrating.

On that note, the idea that in another 6 months I'm gonna be whining about the humidity is what's keeping me warm tonight. Brrr. It's cold outside...for SW Ontario, that is. I know we got nothing like what the Prairies get so I should take my -25C with the windchill of -33C and shut my yap. (That's all in a day's work when you live in Saskatchewan, right?)

so very true Ninna... as my dh said tonite.. what did our grandparents do..?? did they complain about their walk to school, taking care of their homes.. and they weren't exactly in the 'burbs' ya know. i have so much respect for all my elders tonite.

Well, I'll take those -6 predictions for February, will somewhat less snow than this month, and a hotter than usual summer!
We had one really nasty cold week or so, but it's moderated now, Tomorrow -14, Wed, -10, Thurs -7...it can keep going in the right direction!

I cannot believe how cold it got in Austin Texas. Like -8 with the windchill. For Austin, that is very cold. Ohio saw -20 where I was, -55 where I live.

I bet those global warming activists who got stuck in Antarctica ice feel rather foolish today.
