I'm so very proud to have Mr. Wall as our premier!

Absolutely love his Christmas message - unfortunately, he's getting some criticism because - sigh - he talks about uh, Christmas....

So you're going to have the kids home for a while?
Here's a little something to craft with them and hold their attention and hopefully keep them
staring at it for more than a few minutes!

    Their very own Lava Lamp!

My hygenist made this and had it on the wall of her 'room'...it was SO cute! I'm going to make one now out of some double-sided scrapbook papers I have to see how it turns out.
Here are the directions if anyone else is interested...

The one she made is huge and so adorable...I want to make a large one in gold and silver for our DD's home.
Single "petals" of the snowflake, when hung individually, look like ornaments!

So cute - live reindeer cam, and Santa makes an appearance at scheduled times.
You can have your child's name added to the scroll for the Nice list.

Whoa - this I didn't know about the song "The 12 Days of Christmas", how interesting!

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

    - The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

-The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

-Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

-Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

During Christmas I like to spend time with my family and friends and creating a list of people to give presents. Put up my Christmas tree and replace any broken decoration.

I made two of them and they turned out fantastic! Hubby thought I was very talented! lol! Making these can get addictive! I used sheets of double-sided printed scrapbook papers...GORgous!
And if you're making them, use a low temp or a glue gun carefully; it makes things so much easier!!
I hope you try this, even if it's computer paper!
Oh: I cut the 12x12 sheets into quarters, which ended up making about a 1' wide star.

So impressed by these young men! Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Virden Oil Capitals team members.
Appearance at end by Olympic pairs figure skating hopefuls Paige Lawrence and Rudi Swiegers, who train in Virden.
