The 49-year-old Montrealer, who left his wife behind in Quebec to live out of a suitcase in a Toronto hotel, began working as the mayor’s “sobriety coach” just two weeks ago. Mr. Marier has no formal clinical training, instead using his own experience – a “been there, done that” attitude – when working with clients. Working through a company that hires him out, he said he’s helped hundreds of clients in the five years he’s been coaching.
As a coach, he works one-on-one with clients to “reinforce the positive results of continued abstinence,” according to a description he provided to The Globe. He’s also tasked with running “interference” between clients “and those who seek to provide drugs and/or alcohol” – associations the mayor claims he’s cut out of his life.

You know, I just have to add, Ford makes $177,499 a year as mayor of Toronto. If you wanna talk about stopping the gravy train, why not get this drunken crackhead out of City Hall?

He's no average joe. He makes huge coin. He will make three-quarters of a million dollars for being Toronto's world renowned Crack Smoking Mayor over the course of 4 years, and he also takes in a salary from Deco Labels, on top of that.

His personal net worth has been estimated to be as high as $50 million.

That's how come the Ford brothers can afford to stand outside public housing buildings and hand out $20 bills. They have discovered the secret to getting elected. While the Ford brothers are in the 1% of wealth in Canada, there are huge numbers of the obese, the drug addicted, the criminal, the public housing resident, welfare cases, high school dropouts, working class immigrants as so forth that see Ford as just like them, and they are poor enough that $20 will buy their vote. And of course that is corrupt. That is criminal. It is illegal to buy votes.

Then, Ford tried to use his powers to cut services to the very people that need them. The TTC, libraries, parks, social services (a.k.a. welfare, early childhood and similar support programs for the poor). It's the elite, like the Fords, and the middle class that are unaffected by these cuts, and the poor that are damaged by them. But it is the poor that elected this guy! He backstabbed them and did everything he could to limit property tax increases to wealthy property owners instead. He calls this ending the gravy train, but the wealthy still get their gravy. The poor are stuck with an empty gravy boat.

Ford is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He appeals to society's downtrodden by presenting himself as one of them. The poor, uneducated, ignorant masses have lifted up a criminal to be Toronto's face to business and the rest of the world. It's a bad situation for everybody (except criminals and the wealthy elite).

That is my problem with Rob Ford. The fact that his is an ignorant, homophobic, antisemitic, misogynistic, drunk and crackhead comes second.

It sounds like your problem is with the electorate.

Apparently at the weekend's Japanese festival in downtown Toronto, Mayor Ford showed up and people crowded him to ask for pictures or just to meet him.
