I have bought dozens of GCs with my Credit card and dozens of GCs with SDM GCs and have never been rejected for several years and I know others do the same. It's certain SDM that won't accept them.

ok I have decided to buy best buy gc. this is my 1st time participating. I have a question. do I have to buy 2 card totaling $150.00? or I can buy $150.00 straight up? Also I will be buying around $900.00 best buy cards. will best buy accept several of their gc in a lots of denomination? don't want to buy all these cards and for them to tell me, that's a lot of card and they wont accept. plz help

you have to buy a min of 2. so buy in sets of 1x $100 & 1x$50 =$150, or 2x$75, or 3x$50

what they don't want u doing is using a shoppers gift card or visa card to purchase more gift cards. they will not give points for this

But what I don't get is how can they tell if you used a Credit Gift Card or a Regular Credit Card. They are proccesed they same way.

For all the people wondering about buying the gift cards with a credit card, in Canada, it is against the law to buy credit with credit.
So you cannot buy one of the credit card gift cards (i.e. AMEX gift card), with a credit card.
You can however, purchase regular retail store gift cards (i.e. Shoppers, LCBO, gas, etc gift cards), with your credit card.
I hope that clears this up.

A prepaid credit card is not considered "credit". It does not report to the credit bureau, it does not require a credit check, doesn't require an address, SIN, ect... A prepaid visa/mastercard/amex is really just a visa/mastercard/amex gift card. You can definitely buy them with a credit card in Canada.

I was under the impression that you can buy gift cards with SDM gift cards but doing so during this promo will not allow you to receive the 8000bp. In other words, to receive the 8000bp you have to pay by cash, debit or credit....not previously purchased gift cards. This stops people from "double dipping" for points. I may be totally wrong and please correct me if I am!

no you are right. you must purchase (2 or more cards that total 150) with debit/visa/mc/amx to get the 8000 bonus points. the points are awarded about a week later. that's what they've done for the last few of these.

My shoppers has a sign saying purchases more than $100 must paid for with cash or debit so I guess that answers that one for me.

Not sure how many SC's are out there from Fort McMurray but the downtown shoppers does not allow you to buy CG's with Credit Card.

I'm pretty sure that's what the fine print says, so I've never bothered to try. But I know others were successful last year.

1. Sherway Gardens SDM, you have to pay with cash or debit card, it's been like that since last year.

This was my experience as well.

If my local Shoppers stopped taking credit cards I would be quite sad.

That said, my local store will not lot me buy GC with SDM GCs.
