I find little amounts in winter jackets and stuff but my best is hiding $750.00 belonging to my DH business, can’t remember exactly when or why. I was really paranoid during my first pregnancy. Well the kids found it one day about 6 or 7 years after while they where trying to discover new secret hiding place in the house. Still remember one calling the other saying he found money and my husband and I thinking they found some loose change. The look on our face must have been priceless. I stopped hiding money in the house after that. But at least we figured out why we coudn't balance the books one year.

I'm really careful(o.k. paranoid) if I decide to hide money,I make sure I put it in one of my "stash spots".There's a reason I'm afraid to hide stuff too well....
In 1973 when I was a kid,my parents split up-it was pretty nasty, and we were dirt poor-so we ended up moving in with one of my mom's girlfriends. She was a wonderful lady, but quite a barfly. They went out to the Legion for some special super jackpot bingo that was being held.....and my mom won a THOUSAND DOLLARS!In 1973!
They(and everyone they knew) had a few drinks and mom decided to come back to the house to stash the bulk of the money(no ATMs back then)-close to 800 bucks-where no one would ever find it.She put it in a hole her girl friends teenaged son had punched in one of the walls-there were quite a few of them-and went off to party it up with her friend.

    No one ever found it.

Lesson:hide stuff where you'll find it,but no one else will.
I'm sure they'll be sifting the rubble if that house is ever torn down!

I haven't really hid money persay... BUT I have about 40 hoodies and jackets that i am constantly throwing on and off... So I finally decided one day that I was going to wash all of them. I don't do that too often so I don't wear them out too easily... WELL I thought I should go through every pocket and make sure there was nothing in them. Took me about 35 minutes to go through every single one and in the end I found like $78 in $5 bills and change, like 100 bobby pins, and jewelry i thought I had lost.... LOL. Apparently I am not so good at emptying my pockets...

I have a tin(hedgehogs he he) that DH and I keep all our GC's in & any cash that we may get as presents. The tin is stashed in a place we both know about, and there's all sorts of goodies in there - movie theater, Home Depot, Sobey's, gas cards. I got tired of losing the GC's so this was a good solution, now we put any cash in there too, so there's always an emergency/slush fund available (cash is from side jobs that DH or I may have done).
