We drive through Lucan on our way to London. I haven't really done much shopping in Lucan but there are some neat little stores and great history regarding the Donnelly's. I haven't been to Anna Mae's in ages either and the food is so good...I sense a road trip coming up.

One of the phone calls I had to make yesterday was to Sunlight regarding an issue I was having with the spouts falling into the detergent. Anyways, I was told that laundry detergent has a life expectancy of two years which means at this point it is expired.
Apparently it looses its cleaning power, becomes thinner and looses its scent. Mine still cleans fine and so what if I may have to use more and it still has a lovely scent.
QOTD would be for those who stockpile (I do). Do you worry about stuff like this our do you use it anyways? I know that certain food products I probably wouldn't but I can't think of any right now with the exception of outdated stale potato chips and meat.

Posted in the Brag Section, but wanted y'all to see this too:
Because Christmas shopping credit card bills are coming due, the stores have sweetened the deals to get people to forget those large bills.
There are some great flyer deals beginning this Thursday and Friday. Gonna fill the fridge, freezer and pantry. We SCers can really stretch our grocery money over a few weeks or over a few months with the great deals coming up. And price matching too, if the shelves are cleared in your area. Yahoo!
Thanks to those great Smart Canuckers that posted flyers Monday and Tuesday -- you know who you are.

Those savings can be put in the bank at 2.5%
. Doesn't matter how small. Every nickel helps (no more pennies
).
President's Choice Financial and ING have some offers on for January that have nice interest.

Good morning!

Too bad about the detergent.
I buy extras of some things, but don't really stockpile anymore. I learned my lesson with keeping too much lotion, deoderant, and some other products like smellies which I ended up having to throw away because they got yucky.
Now I just keep a few extra of things which I know we will use within three or six months, depending upon what it is.

One of the biggest things we are looking at this is not over stockpiling. Both myself and my mom are guilty of this we just buy more than we can use. Food is easy it has an expiry date and by the end of last year on most food items I was able to figure out how much we consume, give or take. When it comes to items like detergent which does not have an expiry date, we do stockpile but I cannot say that our stockpile will last us years. Personally we use Arm & Hammer with Oxi which does on sale regularly and there does seem to be regular coupons for and since these items are so bulky I usually only keep 4 to 6 on hand which will last us 6 months to a year give or take.
With that being said we are not going through certain cleaning products I bought at the rate I expected us too so now I am wondering if Scrubbing Bubbles or Windex go bad (expire) as my stockpile on these items is quite large and although we moved to a bigger house our consumption on these have gone done (less mirrors to clean, as well Mom loves the grease buster one more and does not use original at all).
I am quite interested to see how others respond to this.

I don't worry about things like soaps, cleaners lotions etc. With food I am more careful though, I am stockpiling less just because there always seems to be a sale so I plan my meals around the current items on sale and it seems pointless to have so much excess unless it is a can't refuse deal!! I know I have too many dishwasher tabs right now and a few other things so lesson learned!!! I started seriously couponing 3 years ago and I think it almost begins to be a need to have all the excess, even if things are at rock bottom prices it still costs me time and money to chase the deals. This is something I am working on, I have a hard time passing up fantastic deals so I just shop less!! I decided last fall to track my time spent going after great deals and decided I would be better off getting a part time job instead. Now I work 12 hours a week at a part time job I love and bring home money instead of spending it!!

I go to AnnaMae`s at least once a month. It`s one of the places where I sell my crochet top towels and baby afghans.
I think I know which one you mean now although I have never been there. I go to the one near Goderich sometimes.
I`ve never stopped at that one. The one we go to is Maitside Orchard

I have had to control my stockpile too. When I 1st started out I was a bit crazy. This week there was great coupon for diswasher tabs and I did not print it since I already know I have enough to last me until Christmas so even if something is cheap it still has a cost be it time or money.
I do try to rotate my stuff so the older goes to the back. Also with building a stash for my brother I still pick up great deals just now for me...hmm maybe I should have printed that coupon.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

morning all
I'm with many of you ladies.. I had a very limited area for my stockpile and when it outgrew itself when I first started. had to some major rethinking.. now its basics. shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, soup
if it goes on sale and i can stock 3-4 or more(soup) then I will.
other wise.. its only 1-2 only.
Lilo--Mac... if you guys (ladies) are ever close to London or in London.. feel free to message me.. once the weather gets nicer maybe we can meet up somewhere..... y does the name Anna Mae's sound so familiar.. I swear that its been mentioned by someone.. do they have a restaurant?
I was supposed to be going to the store for cheese for dh and to the clinic across the street to get my ear checked.. i think its clogged with wax.. anyway we now have the beginnings of a small storm coming in.. lots of fluff happening out there.Be Strong
Be True
Be You.
Simple as that!
