We all have our genius moments when things just work out perfectly...
...and then there are times where we just have to channel our inner MacGyver.
What house hold items do you use in some way other than its intended purpose?

I tend to use the very cheap or free wipes I got ( Lysol ones ) to clean the kitchen floor instead of dragging out the bucket and mop. They work surprisingly well to capture the loose dirt, (eliminating the sweeping for pet hair ) and they remove all other spills whether dried on or not. Only takes about 5-6 to do the floor. It is sort of an in between clean when I just do not want to sweep and mop.

killing ants outside, when they are trying to get into the home:
1. first hot water boiled in the microwave
2. then vinegar poured near the ants entrance. The pickling vinegar is the best

Veggie trimmings go into a ziplock in the freezer- when the bag is full I make a pot of stock- it's the best!
If I have grapefruits or lemons on their way out I freeze the juice into ice cube trays and use the ice cubes in my soda water- Delish
