(Gee, he got killed a week before he was to leave the forces....)
21-year-old Maksym Narizhny, military nurse and shooter, was killed on March 27, 2017 with his comrade Vladysav Pysarenko when they hit a mine during a combat mission near Svitlodarsk Bulge, village of Novoluhansk, Donetsk Oblast
Maksym was born in Sumy. A patriot and defender of his homeland, he went to war from the very beginning and fought as a volunteer for a year and then enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Maksym had one more week before being demobilized.

Soldier Vladyslav Pysarenko, call sign “Rastishka”, was killed was killed on March 27, 2017 with his comrade Maksym Narizhny when they hit a mine during a combat mission near Svitlodarsk Bulge, village of Novoluhansk, Donetsk Oblast. 2017.
Vladyslav served as gunner in the 1st Assault Division. He was a former Azov fighter. He joined in April 2015 and fought in the volunteer corps for about a year. In early August, he resigned and joined the Donbas-Ukraine Battalion of the Armed Forces.
Vladyslav was only 21 (born in 1995). His commander remembers him as a shy and quiet young man, but at the same time a determined fighter who wanted change, especially the return of the occupied territories and his native town … he was born in Donetsk.

Yet another young life snuffed out like a candle…... 19 years old, just 19!
Bohdan Kubishyn, soldier in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, died near Popasna, Luhansk Oblast on March 29, 2017.
Bohdan will be laid to rest in his native village on April 1, 2017.
Bohdan was born in the village of Dovhomostyska, Lviv Oblast on August 9, 1997. He grew up in a large family of six children. He finished school and enlisted in the Danylo Halytsky 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade, serving as a shooter and assistant gunner.
Bohdan leaves behind his mother, stepfather, four sisters and two brothers who are also fighting in eastern Ukraine.

Operation UNIFIER is Canada’s contribution to support Ukrainian forces through capacity building, in coordination with the U.S. and other countries providing similar training assistance. Military assistance is one component of Canada’s support to Ukraine across development, security, democracy, and humanitarian aid.
As part of Canada’s response to requests from the Government of Ukraine, the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), with support from Global Affairs Canada, is providing military training and capacity building to Ukraine forces’ personnel to support Ukraine in its efforts to maintain sovereignty, security, and stability.

Military activity decreased on April 1. From 00:00 to 18:00 20 attacks were recorded, however, 4 Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in action today (Apr.1) by 6 p.m..

Soldier Anton Velmozhko was laid to rest on April 1 in Zaporizhyzhya. Anton was killed on March 29 at Svitlodarsk Bulge near the Avdiyivka PromZone. He had just turned 28...
Anton was a native of Zaporizhyzhya, born on January 7, 1989. He studied at School No.47, and worked at the local metallurgical plant.
Anton was called up in 2015 and signed a contract in 2016, serving in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Volodymyr Yehorenko was laid to rest in Odesa on April 3, 2017.
Volodymyr was killed on March 29, 2017 during a mortar attack at Svitlodarsk Bulge near the village of Troyitske, Luhansk Oblast.
Volodymyr Yehorenko was born in Odesa on May 19, 1966, but lived in Slobidka, Ternopil Oblast. He was mobilized in 2014, and six months after demobilization he returned to the front and signed up for military service.
He served as driver in the Protection Battalion of the 44th Ternopil Separate Artillery Brigade. His commanders and comrades remember him as an exemplary soldier. Humane, decent, and friendly, he loved his family and friends, was always ready to help out, both generous and caring with his friends.
He leaves behind his wife and two children - a son and a daughter.

Soldier Volodymyr Kapralov was laid to rest on April 2, 2017 in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhya Oblast.
During heavy shelling near Maryinka, Donetsk Oblast on March 12, 2017, Volodymyr saved two comrades, covering them with his own body. Seriously wounded, he lay in a coma for 19 days while doctors fought for his life... the 35-year-old soldier breathed his last on March 31 in Mechnikov Hospital in Dnipro.
Volodymyr Kapralov was born on July 8, 1981 in Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhya Oblast. He was a construction worker before the war, but volunteered in the 37th Zaporizhzhya Battalion as soon as Russian troops invaded Eastern Ukraine. He then served as gunner in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Volodymyr leaves behind his father, sister, wife and his 8-year-old son. Volodia’s mother passed away a year ago, but she’ll be waiting for him at heaven’s gates…

Volunteer soldier Dmytro Shumsky, call sign “Shaman”, was laid to rest in Kyiv on April 2, 2017. Dmytro served as a volunteer in the Santa intelligence unit of the Pravy Sektor Corps.
Dmytro was killed in Avdiyivka PromZone on March 30, 2017. A great patriot and a true friend who will never be forgotten.

Ukraine reports 2 WIA's amid 29 enemy attacks in last day Russia's hybrid military forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in Donbas 29 times in the past 24 hours with two Ukrainian soldiers reported as wounded in action (WIA), according to the press service of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Headquarters.
The enemy was most active near the Ukrainian-held strategic port city of Mariupol. In particular, 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns were used to attack the Ukrainian positions near the town of Krasnohorivka. The Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Pavlopil and Vodiane came under fire from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. The militants also fired grenade launchers and small arms on the defenders of the town of Maryinka. Moreover, enemy snipers were active near Krasnohorivka, and the villages of Novotroyitske and Vodiane.
In the Donetsk sector, the largest number of violations was recorded near the town of Avdiyivka whose defenders were repeatedly attacked with 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns. The Russian occupation forces also used machine guns and small arms against the defenders of the villages of Zaitseve and Pisky, which were also under sniper fire. In the Luhansk sector, the militants used proscribed 120mm mortars to shell the Ukrainian positions near the village of Syze and anti-tank grenade launchers to attack the defenders of the village of Novo-Oleksandrivka.
Despite armed provocations, the Ukrainian army strictly observed the ceasefire and did not fire back.
