The weekend was busy for crocking in my house. Did chicken on Saturday with salsa and taco seasoning, will be making those into kind of enchiladas - mix the shredded chicken with refried beans, black beans, a bit of salsa and cheese and roll in tortillas, top with more salsa and cheese and bake.

Also did some chili in the crockpot yesterday.

Do you have left overs in the fridge from summer BBQ's that you don't know what to do with? Try This!

    What You’ll Need:

    • Crock-Pot
    • 4 – 5 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast thawed
    • One 18 oz. Bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Cola-Q Barbecue Sauce (if you can’t find Cola-Q at your store, you can substitute Original Sweet Baby Ray’s Sauce)
    • 1/2 Can Coca-Cola (approx. 6 oz.)

    What You’ll Do:

    • Cook chicken in crock-pot on high for 3 hours (covered)
    • After 3 hours, drain juices from crock-pot
    • Mix together BBQ Sauce and Coca-Cola
    • Pour mixture over chicken, and cook on high for 30 more minutes (covered)

If only they made that remote slowcooker as something combined with what like the Ninja 3-in-1 can do, I'd be ALL over that. I can't justify buying another slow cooker since mine is brand new, but that makes me drool. That's really neat.

My favourite crockpot recipe is one I modified from http://stickygooeycreamychewy.com/20...ash-pot-roast/

3 or 4 lb pot roast
    half a can of Coke
half a bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce
half a packet of dry onion soup mix

on Low for about 6-8 hours so the roast breaks down really nicely

N@ Go to the direct website Cock-Pot Canada based and there is free shipping over 40.00 but it's still listed at 159.99. I'm looking for a deal, so if anyone sees it lower please tell us!!!!

Yea I got quite a kick out of it too when I first stumbled across it. I was happy I tried the recipe though, sometimes you look at the ingredient list and wonder.

I saw this on a page I follow on FB recently. A crockpot with wifi? That I can control remotely from my smartphone? LOL. For me, the whole point of a crockpot is that I throw things in it and forget about it, supper is cooked when I get home.

I have chilli in mine today. DH's birthday is tomorrow and he's having some friends over to play boardgames tonight and wanted to feed them supper. Crockpot chili was the easiest thing I could think of. Will also have nacho chips and cheese with it, and a cornbread if i get one made fast enough.

With Costco having rotisserie chickens for 7.99, it's sometimes hard to purchase that whole one for nearly the same cost to cook up in the slow cooker.

Some recipes call for two different heat settings half way through or a specific time period for a recipe to cook at. It would be nice to be able to change those settings remotely, or turn it on warm not to overcook the meat which I’ve done many times when I didn’t get home on time. Those working 7 ½ hour days in the office can turn their crock-pot's on remotely, if making a meal that only requires 4 to 5 hours to cook too. I don’t think it’s a gadget but actually a truly brilliant idea! I SO, SO, SO want one!!! lol
