I would do it to but I need another person in crime to walk with me. I tried asking my friends but they just looked at me funny.

I am too worried about what other people think than to do more than glance in the recycle boxes as I walk by. But if I see a good box coupon I will go and grab it. We have a lot of beer can collectors in our city so it is fairly common to see people checking out the recycle boxes. I just don't want people to think I am looking for beer cans - because looking for coupons has much less stigma attached to it. Ha, ha!

I've never done it .I can bet those folks in posh neighbourhoods like Bayview, Mt Pleasant/Forest Hill etc throw out their inserts etc. I remembering driving around the posh neighbourhood with friends after or in between classes at Glendon( to admire the houses) in the Bayview/Lawrence area & it felt so eerie..as if you were being watched(I'm sure they have security systems) ....I'd feel strange going through recycle bins of others. What time do you "recycle walkers" go out, late night or it doesn't matter?How do you share/divi up the coupons in the inserts that you find?

yes, please check and make sure of your town/city bylaws as someone else mentioned as this is actually illegal to do in many places. Wouldn't want someone catching you and calling the police as some people would be turned off by others on or near their property making lots of noise while picking threw their recyclables - I know I would! (Not that they'd find anything at my curb)

I went once later at night around 10pm but didn't find a single thing. It was a big let down and a complete waste of time. Instead I know someone who collects a lot of inserts for me and I trade for the rest which is a lot cleaner, safer and less work.
