Dumpster Diving for COUPONS !

I have heard of people who dumpster dive for coupons. Do any of you do this.

I've heard of people that go on recycle bin walks, on garbage and recycling day, and see if they can pull out coupons that are on boxes. Lke the Movie ticket ones and stuff.

I retrieve lots of coupons from recycling bins here in On. I hate that phase though. lol I save thousands a year and now have an individual who collects lots of inserts for me in exchange for free toothpaste, liquid hand soap, etc, etc. Its a win win!!

When its nice out, yes I will admit we blue bin dive!!!! For a while in the summer it was our family Friday night outing! Driving around the city to the different bins at the malls and what not!

I don't do it (no inserts around here) but I just think the term "dumpster diving" is so ugly. LOL. There's nicer ways to say it, like recycle bin walks (which is the term people use here)

I don't "Dumpster Dive" in the true sense of the word. I live a few minutes away from our local newspaper distribution center, and when I worked there, I learned where they put the excess papers and flyers. They get stacked beside the recycling bins that are along the back wall of the plant. No gates or fences, and any driver can just drive up to the bins and drop their leftover flyers or papers. Or locals can pick one up if they didn't get one. I wait until the Monday after delivery to make sure everyone's got what they need, ( we get them on Thursdays here ) and I simply drive over and pick up a few bundles. After I remove the inserts, I bring them back to the bins and recycle them.

You'll see postings start once the weather gets nicer, as SCers go on recycling walks!

Some cities/communities have bylaws against it, so it just depends upon where you live.

If I knew where to dumpster dive, I would honestly do it LOL. Sometimes I get so jealous when amazing inserts come out and I know I won't get any LMAO eg the upcoming smart source with the $4 Sunlight
