Today I was moving around some things on the patio in back and I couldn't get the big container with all my outdoor cushions to move. It was frozen to the ground still and when I finally moved it there was a ton of ice under it and all the blocks were heaved.

There is no way I will be planting on the long May weekend this year.

Ciel, you are lucky you can plant so early.
Here, rule of thumb is Victoria Day weekend - but last year we couldn't plant til June.
I think everything will be delayed by a month if not a little longer.
Rain is forecasted in my region this entire week (April showers in May will bring June flowers?!?)
On the up side, I am hoping to see big liquidations at garden centers...fingers crossed!

My dad is still bringing the tomatoes and zucchini in at night. They are in pots and he leaves them in the attic to stay warm. Frost today = no sauce this August

She's saying it's too cold and I told her the vegetables will handle the temperatures.

Need to find some soil for planter so I can get the herb seeds planted! Rainy days ahead-why not let Nature take care of the watering...

Golf clubs are feeling the same about the rain-they could be filled with golfers keen to get on the fairways.
Think of this week as plan B week-do indoor work, planning work, prep work (aka getting supplies organized or bought). Once that rain moves along and the sun is out, we'll be outside.

Frigid air here and washed out sky. Am thinking some neon plastic outdoor furniture and pillows and t-shirts might help with SPRING thoughts. And the occasional flower opening (glad that is happening).

^ here, you have to get colder to get the sun, it seems.
It's been grey for days, but this morning at -1, LOTS of sun!

Now that it's warming, sun goes away...
