If you are about to post a brag that you know is about - or endorsing yours or others - coupon misuse, manipulation, or otherwise fraud of coupons or stores - please do not bother posting about it at all on Smart Canucks. Smart Canucks does not endorse illegal activity of any kind.

Like cheating on a Math test...it's so much more gratifying when you've aced it by preparing ahead of time instead .

Thanks for taking a stand on this - I once accidentally misused a coupon because I saw someone posting a deal using a certain coupon, I thought they had the right product for that coupon but it turns out that it was that line but no for that specific product. I was not too happy when I found out I misused a coupon. Hopefully this post will keep more situations like mine from happening.

Well said!
I do have a question though — if we believe that a person has misused a coupon either unintentionally or intentionally - or someone needs clarification of which coupon was use or whatnot which way should we approach this?

it is deffinatly a learning process. i have used coupons, totally not realizing that they were wrong (not for the specified product or other misuse). um and to my shame, came on here and bragged about it. well heckypoodles! i was pleased with my score! ugh. then to find out that i'd messed something up in one way or another! omgoodness, the comments & chaos that followed on the threads were brutal!
i have to wonder if i deserve a coupon binder? well, yes, i do! i love being a person who uses coupons and i will try my darndest not to muck it up for canadian couponers

Ask in a friendly tone. Personally I am more likely to respond to a friendly inquiry than anything else. I'm sure most people are the same. SC is a friendly place to learn and share ideas about shopping and saving.
Snarkiness or passively-aggressive posting/answering questions doesn't make anyone any friends.
Coupons are definitely a learning process. Mistakes happen, to old timers as well as newbies. Nobody is going under fire for a mistake. The thing is to acknowledge the mistake and that you've learned for next time.
