I just finished looking through the flyers and making my tentative list.
Any really great deals you don't want to miss out on this week?
I am excited for $2/lb chicken breast at freshco

i think the only reason they dont' accept the clips is because it doesn't show the dates. im just realizing that. which sucks. stores also need to consider wifi for PM customers.

Hi everyone,
Dh is gone until Sunday pm or Monday depending on how bad his back is. So it's just me and the boys and I pray they get along (ya right) a mum can dream.
Once the boys got on the bus this am I started tackling the filing on the desk that is 1 of my May goals, I don't have the accordion folder yet but will hopefully be able to get 1 this month but in the meantime I have everything sorted in duotangs (lol) with a post it note label for later easy filing in the accordion folder.
FIL called around 10am and asked if I wanted to go and pick wild garlic (leeks) and we went but they are not yet ready, another and we should be good to go. I love foraging and will be doing so much more this year with the tight budget & funds. Don't laugh I am anxious for the dandelions because I make dandelion jelly which if you didn't know would swear was honey, yes honey...so going to make a batch maybe 2 and this way I can use the jelly instead of honey and Iwill start to bake with the jelly and substitute in recipes vs. sugar if possible in order to save more $.
Watching my soap right now Days of our livesand having lunch and then will get back to the desk tidy up.
I went over our budget again and once dh gets back from the moose camp I will show him the reality of our current financial situation. We can't afford to spend uneccesarily as I only get paid at the end of the month and so we are having to live off his income which is bi-weekly and not very large and no wiggle room. I don't want to borrow from the LOC anymore as it's increasing and with less monies coming need a strict plan to repay it instead of using it. I will be creating a financial plan of attack this weekend and figure out play by play so that I can show him exactly the ins & outs and what is left after the mortgage goes through weekly. I know we can do it and I know he will be on board but I need to work this all out on paper so that it's visual.
I through out the flyers as I don't want to be tempted and well what I don't know won't bother meas I won't be doing groceries/shopping until the middle of the month.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day & weekend.2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Angela, great mark, congrats!
J&C, good that your husband is feeling well enough and is mobile enough to go hunting! I've never had moose, just elk and deer. Good for you for using dandelions - I hear wine is good, lol!
For those of you who meal plan, bless your hearts, something I just can't do. It's enough for me to decide what meat to thaw the night before!
Husband is just going to physio, and he'll stop at a local butcher's to pick up 10 lbs of ground pork and 3 lbs of boneless ribs - using a gift card he got from his employer for Christmas, so free, yay!

You sure can't beat free meat!! I spent $55 today at No frills and feel I got a nice variety of healthy stuff to make meals for a few days anyway with what we already have onhand.

I think my plan with my pc points is to redeem when there is a good meat sale/pm deal. I like to stock up when its a good deal so free would be good. That is my plan when the bbq items go on sale. Will get lots for the kids and friends so I have stuff to pull to BBQ to feed the kids.

I know free meat is good, but the only thing is the prices at the butcher's are so high, you don't get much for the money-equivalent, if you know what I mean. However, we pretty much only have chicken in the freezer, so we need at least the pork to give us some variety!

I am a big chicken fan. Boneless skinless chicken breasts are my main meat.

It sounds like a lot of us are planning to cash in PC points or Shoppers points or gift cards this month to stretch our grocery dollars! I just got a personal offer from SDM for this weekend to spend 50,000 pts and get 15,000 back so I might stock up on a few necessities for free. Natalka I will be coming up your way for the May long weekend to visit our friends in Saskatoon!
