Angela-you seem so genuine and sincere that I have no doubt many of these parents contacting you will be thrilled to leave their children with you. Who wouldn't want a teacher with a LO watching his/her child-I know I would if I had young children! I think your networking and offering a daily rate have really helped you get some phone calls. Good luck!

I had a different parent contact me within the last hour. He has a 22month old son, same age as our LO. He wants to come and meet us tomorrow during the day. He wants his little boy to start with me next week. Sounds like I have a child for next week and other potential children.
Nice progress.

I just confirmed tutoring dates and times with the two girls that I will be working with over the summer. I will make about $100/wk tutoring these girls in the evenings and on Saturdays at our public library. They will both be going camping at the end of July to the beginning of August, but that's fine.

The interview with the mom went well, she was just late getting here. I have a 2yr old girl starting with me next week. She is booked in for 22days over the summer, just the days that their regular babysitter is taking holidays for. The income that I make just from her will cover our LO's daycare bill with just a little left over. Any additional money that I earn will go towards other bills.

Angela-I am sure you know this already but remember to keep cleaning product, food, craft supplies etc receipts to claim against your income. I believe you can also claim a portion of your mortgage, utilities etc. I am sure another dayhome Mum will chime in or you can read up on Rev Canada. Glad things are coming together for you.

Canada day was a "lazy day" for me. Worked a couiple hours on Month end then curled up at home with my knitting and a couple movies. Ate leftovers for lunch. Made Rice and Meatballs for supper - which apparently my cooking "sucks dads is better" so to little boys are just gonna get soup for lunches the rest of the week.
I got a 2nd job for the month - surveying some businesses - should work out to a couple hundred dollars extra which will be nice as we have company coming and a trip south for a day to get groceries. Have also put in 8 extra hours at work so far. will be paid those hours out at the end of the month.
I have to register my car next month (i think) and renew my driver's license.
I signed up to Mary Maxim last week and that site gives me CRAZY i wants. I love crafty stuff. BF keeps finding wool on the local buy and sell and encouraging purchases. I think hes finally figured out that the "me" thing doesnt have to be him treating me to a pedicure or something fancy just a couple hours to myself with some crafty items and I'm a very happy lady.

The mom with the 21month old son was over to visit this afternoon. He is going to start attending here next week while his mom goes to a workout class. He will be coming for anywhere from 3-5 days a week, 1/2 or full days...just depends. It was pretty obvious to me that he has developmental delays, even if the mom hasn't come to terms with it yet. His only word is dada, and he makes some other sounds...but that is it. He is behind in some other developmental areas as well. It will be good for her little boy to be around our son. She kept asking her little boy if our son was going to teach him to talk. I guess only time will tell.
I now have two part-time toddlers for the summer. I have also been in contact with another mom of a school aged child today. We shall see.Last edited by Angela273; Fri, Jul 4th, 2014 at 10:43 AM. Reason: spelling error

I used to love going to the Mary Maxim store in Paris but haven`t been there in years. Went to the Spinrite yarn outlet yesterday. They discontinued some colours of the yarn I use for baby afghans so I bought some of the one I use. Am going in tomorrow to get more. Hubby didn`t even blink an eye when I told him. He`s learned too, Don`t get between me and my yarn!
