Hi!

Just got back a bit ago. Rode our bikes down to the Cabbagetown Festival. Not a lot happening there today, usual stuff being sold a little music, but a big arts & crafts thingie down the road a bit. Anyways, it was pretty nice out!

The Q is great on Sunday nights eh?

Lily & I went to a BBQ/garden party yesterday (Lily got a last minute invite since the weather was so perfect). It turns out that Lily is a city dog, through & through. After an hour, she had enough of being outside & whined whenever anyone went into the house. I initially thought it was because she wanted everyone to be together, but eventually realized she'd had enough of the great outdoors (yes, I'm sometimes very slow on the uptake ). Unfortunately, the resident pet is very timid, so no 4 legged visitors allowed inside. We left just after it got dark, so the poor girl had to spend a few minutes in my friend's car (it was beside the window so Lily could see in & we could keep an eye on her) while I said my good-byes & helped a bit with the dishes. The look on her face was priceless - "Hey, I'm here in the car, where the is the chauffeur?!"

We stayed over at my folks' place, so she spent a good hour trying to figure out why they weren't home. Clearly the girl doesn't understand the concept of a vacation.

Better go enter all the words from yesterday, I'm far enough behind in my routine as it is. Think I'll go play with the brats first.

Cleaning out a corner of the cottage last week, I came across a magazine from 1979. I can only surmise that the Argos' performance that year was as hapless as this year's. There was a very large spread on advice from the 1950 (or 52?) Grey Cup winners to the 1979 crew. It was great fun reading my Dad's advice and really true to form given that he was an original "there's no I in team" kinda guy.

I'll try to remember to bring it back and share his advice with you - just hope Jim Barker sees it (the only guy on the coaching staff who seems to "get it" is Mike O'Shea - geez, I wonder why?!)

Thanks for the feedback !! I guess "I" better grow up and accept the many things to come......I guess missing her ( being my bestest bud) had to end... Not "that" much though... I do the call and skype thing once a week reliving family dinner...cazy but it makes me feel better. She says, OMG Mom, you know I love you, always. Once a week and no more. it is what it is!! HUGE milestone..
3 years to my son leaves me !!!
I'm going to cherish them!!!

maggie, rodent & i email almost everyday & we talk on the phone once a week. i know about the bestest bud thing, cause we did a lot of things together & went a lot of places together, but there comes a time when they must grow up. the bright side is that she's only in school & she will return a few times in the year & at the end. you'll have all next summer to pal around again. this will also help prepare you for when she does move out on her own. for now you can bug the crap out of your son, since he's home.

I thought the same thing too last year when both of my kids went away to school but it was worse when they came home for week-ends!!! My front hall looks looks like a laundromat... they both have laundry facilities in their houses at school, but they like when I do it better.... lol... yes.... I have spoiled my kids....

For me, it's groceries that makes a difference.... I went shopping today and it looked like I didn't buy anything!! it was weird shopping for 2 instead of 4 (or 6 including their friends)....
