Meek pitch that if you don't have enough points for redemption, see if there is a cause you can donate points towards through Club Sobeys. I like that the card has this option because at least the points are going somewhere.

One thing as an Ontarian I have noticed is that Metro's flyer for Quebec has offers/coupons/promos that don't seem to appear here. Maybe our Quebec SCers will adopt some Western SCers and Ontarian SCers! Allo, soeur/frere!

I'd actually prefer Airmiles to sobeys points because I rarely if ever shop at Sobeys, maybe once a year so its not beneficial for me to have a card - even though I do. I'd much rather get 1 airmile (or however many) as I can use my airmiles card elsewhere too not just for one store, plus one less card in my wallet.

i will miss club Sobeys, I get amazing email offers weekly and it is my neighborhood store. i rack up points really quickly by watching points offers and sales and combining with 15% off the first Tuesday of the month.I will adapt but I am not a fan of air miles the program just isn't what it used to be.

I should talk to a local Sobeys manager that I know & see what she has heard.

edit: I am not impressed. I currently have $110 on my Sobeys Club card. Sobeys & No Frills are my regular grocery stores, especially since there are only 3 regular grocery stores in my small city. In my experience, AirMiles has done nothing but devalue their points systems, make it harder to earn & redeem.

I have over 100.00 in points as well, I have always saved my points for my December grocery shop. I'm hoping i can buy a Sobeys gift card with my points and just tuck it away for December rather than just buy things now that I don't need.

When I was in university, I always saved my points and then redeemed them for my fall stock-up trip when I had to buy everything from condiments to baking ingredients. Since then, I do one big shop about once a year and stock up. I bought $100 worth of lean ground been in January for $2.25/lb and still have some in the freezer.

A clerk in my local one told me that it's done in September.

Just linked my Sobey's card to Airmiles so I don't lose anything as I rarely shop at Sobeys because it's 2 hours away.

I got an email a while ago, I went ahead and did the transfer already. I don't want there to be a bunch of issues since most people leave it to the last week or so. The change wont take effect until September, but it was just as easy to do when they sent me the email.
