My doggies went for a much needed grooming today and while they were gone I went out and "De-burred" the back of the field where we go for walks. Well, let's just say I started! It was incredibly hot and after about 15 minutes, I decided that bending over wrestling with determined weeds was not doing my back any good. But I did get a fair number of the little blankity-blanks cut down. Actually removing the roots will have to come another day. Then I took on some nasty vines that are gradually strangling a Mullberry tree. I did tear a significant bunch of it out.
Then when I came it I looked like I was about to burst- my face was crimson! So maybe I did a bit too much.

Dog2 came home very itchy, so I went to get him some Benadryl and managed to find a few little Christmas gifts for less than $5 each for friends that exchange little things with.

I can't "like" you when I use this Kindle but you're all doing a great job!

Missed labour stories so had to go back and read. I love reading them!

DD1 - 14 hours start to finish 3 hours active labour, induction but other wise natural at hospital. Water broke before contractions.

DD2 - hospital full, choices were to drive 45 min to next hospital or birth at home. No way I was getting in car. I had false labour for 24 hours, active labour maybe 2 hours. Born naturally at home. Water broke before pushing.

If you were given a verbal or written contract that does include paid sick days, and then change it later on, then they have to give you written notice 15 days prior to the change taking effect. Verbal retraction of the paid sick days is not good enough. They can't retroactively take back sick days from sick days that they have already paid you for. Any future sick days with pay can be withdrawn with proper notice. Since you had a verbal or written contract regarding the paid sick days, you can terminate your services and still qualify for EI because the conditions of your employment have changed. Double check with EI first, if you decide to do this.

#1 daughter-18 hours in hospital( -water broke at home -back then had to get to hospital right away-had epidural
-#2 son-our car was broke we were going to get It fixed but he came a week early(my brother drove us) -my water broke again at home -7 hours with epidural again(hubby got to cut his cord)

Happy TGIF! Busy morning for me at work but hoping to get it all done smoothly. Then the afternoon to finish a few things so I can enjoy the weekend. My baby is going to his 1st Much Music dance tonight Happy for him as he and his friends are so excited. But now I have 3.5 free hours on a Friday night. I may go shopping and get that all done. Same DS has 1st hockey game tomorrow and another practise right after but Sunday looks free so far. hoping the market is open to take the kids.

Everyone has been so busy the last few weeks! i read all the posts and lost track of everything I wanted to say!

I cant have babies so sadly i cant share labour stories!

I was computerless (of my own) for a week or so - damaged my hard drive and had to order parts to repair it - a not so frugal fit of tempter. Oups.

We did our backto school shopping in the closet...and a bit online to have a few things like notebooks and paper onhand as the boys need replacements. Walmart shipped right to our door!

I've been doing a bit of christmas shopping and crafting - trying to make it as "frugal' as possible by spreading some of the costs out over a few months with purchasing some awesome ideas on sale or clearance.

I've replenished what we spent on tub repairs in july from my TFSA finally - makes me happy to have that back in there. Hoping before the next emergency comes up to have a bit more of a nest egg in the EF fund though.

you are blessed with your bf and his 2 wonderful boys, you sound like a super step-mom, you are a mum!

I only purchased new clothing for ds1 as he needed school uniforms but ds2 didn't need anything besides a few school supplies which we had around the house thank goodness. Ds2 is fine with the clothes he has I must admit when he was gone with the inlaws I threw away a few of his ratty (lol) looking clothes BUT I dont' think he even noticed.

We really need to start an emergency fund here....after all our expenses with the truck it was a real eye opener, great job on setting 1 up and replenishing it.

Work has been stressful lately. Our Conveyancing Secretary quit - and our new lady starts on the 5th of Sept and when she did quit our receptionist was only in training for a little over a week. I'm the only one thats been there longer than a year now.Which means I'm actually doing 2 jobs now and putting in extra hours. Cant complain about the extra money but the stress is getting to me to the point that BF told me its time for me to find a new job becausethe stress is getting to me emotionally and im also I'm not healing properly again. The boss retracted paid sick days so if I have to miss (like yesterday i was WAY too sick to go into work) I'm not paid, which REALLY REALLY sucks. I liked having the one paid sick day a month to fall back on.

We got an awesome amount of Cucumbers from our garden a couple small bags of beans to freeze. We froze some swiss chard to crunch up into soups and sauces. and So far....we've gotten 15 potatoes from 1 plant! Tomatoes are looking awesome. Our peas are flowering again but I think it may freeze before there are more pods ready.


I've gotten a few computers this month so have made about $180 extra this month. Theres possibly another 120 as well - we will see if people actually drop things off though. i'm sticking the extra funds straight into the Emergency fund just in case we need it. I'm also putting any overtime $$ into the EF as well. because We did discuss me quitting my job in November and just going to something lower paying job for a while. I am applying for other things though as we speak. We'll see how the stress goes after there's less work load. I REALLY dont want to be responsible for other peoples mortgages. (When you think that I ended up with 18 extra hours on top

Someone is supposed to come at 10AM to pick up an item dh has for sale, we dropped the price and then we're offer even less but it's taking up room in the garage and we need the cash so good riddance (lol) so that $ will go towards paying FIL for the firewood he is cutting for us on our property so no out of pocket = win win

Woohoo!! Finished my busy morning already! Now I can work on other things to make next week easier! Wish I was at home puttering lol Kitchen was left clean so that is an accomplishment on its own from the morning rush getting everyone fed and out the door. (I was smart and fried up 2 extra eggs yesterday when I made breakfast so all I had to do this morning was toast the English muffins and heat up the eggs in the microwave to make the boys quick breakfast) Will be doing the same Sunday night to make the next few mornings easy.
