Nancy great idea with the survivor party!!!When my kids started playing soccer it took a long time for me to learn the finesse of the game, I imagine football is the same way, never watched much of it.I think the fact you are there is the most important though!!
Coupon girl, I have a pretty diverse wardrobe, I still go into the office sporadically so I need business attire, for the bakery I wear white scrubs and just my old clothes to cook at the golf course, as well we travel for conferences to wonderful places so have my holiday wear.give me some Russel sweats and a t-shirt and I'm happy though!! I do most of my shopping for the next season using online end of clearance sales at rickies, holister, reitmansfor my casual clothes and I buy a few things at the bay and sears, but hands down Winners is my fave, just bought a beautiful Calvin Kline dress for 40.00 for Christmas parties etc.!! Last year I turfed anything I hadn't worn in a few years and am now buying better quality pieces on clearance and doing more matching of outfits for dual purposes, I totally enjoy having less clothing in my closet , much happier that way. I hate clothing shopping and hate trying things on!!

I haven't been feeling very good. I was up with LO at 7:00am again today, this is his typical internal alarm clock time. I made a batch of chunky tomato sauce this morning for the freezer. I used up most of the ripe tomatoes from my garden (4 different varieties), most of the sauce consisted of the large tomatoes off two of my plants. So far I have been covering my garden all week and it has continued to survive the frost, hopefully tonight is the last night that I will have to do that for a while. The freezer is quite full right now. Some of the stuff in my freezer right now: a variety of home made muffins, home made cooked meatballs, about 10 yogurt containers full of crab apple sauce, lots of lean ground beef, couple causes of chicken breasts, a few whole roasting chickens, salmon fillets, fish sticks, some french fries, lots of hashbrowns, frozen veggies, icecream sandwiches, and frozen strawberries.



Busy week ahead.
I am doing a lot of volunteer work for the CWL this week. The CWL's fun fair is next Sunday. I am in charge of the kids games, need to buy prizes, set up and take down games on different days (pick up this week, return next week). They would also like me to bake some goodies to sell and bring garden produce too. I also have another monthly meeting for a different volunteer organization. LO starts gymnastics tomorrow and has library class on Wednesdays (free). I am teaching tomorrow morning. Plan on baking some banana chocolate chip muffins for a staff of 53ppl at one Catholic school. I still want to visit all the schools in Weyburn to get my face out there now that I have included myself on their substitute teacher list. Dh heads back to work tomorrow, so LO is back in daycare whenever I am working. He really likes it there.

Hello folks!
We are having a short "use up gift certificate s" get-away.
Last night stayed with a friend in Cambridge. Lots of chatter. We had used a gift certificate to a WONDERFUL southern BBQ place in Kitchener and my brother's family joined us. I love seeing them! Auntie between two boys - heaven!
Now we are lounging in our room over-looking the falls - BEAUTIFUL!- using a group on credit we weren't able to use last winter when DH was so ill. Supper and breakfast included plus a tour of a CHOCOLATE FACTORY! We are literally right beside the casino but probably won't go.
Then tonight a show at the Shaw Festival- another "Dealfind" deal. Then homeward bound tomorrow. We will spend one night in a hotel on the way home to break up the ride. My back has been ok- we've been stopping about every hour so I can exercise it.
I really haven't been out of town since last Christmas! I am enjoying this!

Found some nice roasts ( beef) for $2.98 LB Bought 3 at around $10 each. Had PC points offer of 400pc pts per $1 spent so like 40 percent off. So got back 12,600 PC pints which equals $12.60. So will be ready for the crockpot this or next week for sure.

Tonight's dinner. Brick chicken on BBQ, carrots, broccoli and mashed potatoes. And a glass of wine while we cook it and chat

coupon girl - no extensive wardrobe here (lol), as I stay home I don't need fancy things and the nice things I did have I outgrew (got a little fluff), then I lost 20 pounds this year and never replaced other than the clothing I go at the re-use it centre all name brands but I have to lose another 20 so my things won't fit again....sigh

I think the key is to get a piece at a time and not break the bank (smile)

Well went to the re-use it centre, got a cute as a button for myself, its kind of sexy....see lady 40 is the new 20 (lol).

Got a smaller stainless steel stainer that sits on your pot/bowl - awesome for those hot veggies....

Also got a 8" cast iron frying pan which I will re-season in time....HAS ANYONE EVER RE-SEASONED CAST IRON PAN???

A pair of slacks for Jaden - I will know if they fit once he manages to try them on.....teenagers.

Dh got a few things as well.

MIL tagged along and got a framed print for her bedroom and a few hard covered books.

All is all some nice items, however, Logan didn't get anything today

Dinner tonight was bbq hamburgers w/ homemade french fries for the kiddos (french fries are my criptonyte - spelling unsure), love those french fries....

- to the engagement luncheon yesterday I wore a lovely purple heavy knit dress as it was cold 7.00 at talize 50% off day and black sling back shoes from talize 3.50got them before summer so first time wearing it(people said I looked lovely)

Well J and C I think it helps that we are older with the house already paid for-it makes it much easier to plan a smaller budget without that needing to go out each month. Of course I did my share of scrimping and saving in my younger years. Once you younger folks have your mortgage payments behind you it does get easier to budget in my experience-although I know some folks also rent in later years too and that works for them. I was looking at Kijiji today out of curiosity and just floored at the mortgage payments of 2500 plus per month-and that is with low interest payments. I can see why many families have a second income!

it's a whole chicken cut up the spine. ( I'm not the one that does this yuck) then lay it on the BBQ and we have a tinfoil wrapped brick that we put in it to flatten it out. I think people call it flattened chicken lol. We call it brick. He spices it all up!

You are such a bargain shopper and the flexibility of being home to pounce on a deal when you find one, you are always finding such wonderful deals and what sounds like stunning clothing which is awesome.

Sounds like you were decked out in your outfit and most importantly feeling good in what you are wearing is the most important thing in my opinion. I bet you're hubby thought you were beautiful and I bet he looked great also with that new shirt
