teehee. Great question Nat.
I realized there are MANY things I do not like to do such as...
sanding drywall (ugh. my eyes!!),
filing taxes (ugh. the stress. What if I mess up and the gov't audits me?),
cleaning the oven (ugh. that's grease in my hair and my arms have a rash from the chemicals!) and,
carrying heavy things like washers or large appliances or super heavy furniture--especially to the second floor--(ugh. I'm not freakin' 20 anymore and I like my toes intact!)
I hate doing ALL of these things although most of them I still do myself; I just try to make them more pleasurable. I share the taxes with DH. I use the self clean feature on the oven even though it costs a fortune to do so. I still move some furniture although I had a new front load washer delivered recently and decided I'm too old for this crap. Best investment EVER. 3 guys pulled up at 11am. They unloaded it, carried it up a long flight of stairs, navigated it around a bunch of tight corners, set it up and left. They pulled away by 11:08am. It would've taken me 8 minutes just to think through how to get it off the truck.
It's not that I'm scared of labour or hard work. I've moved plenty in my day but I'm realizing that I'm not invincible. It's easier to injure muscles and joints. My body is less flexible than it used to be and it takes me longer to recover from doing things like that. Better off to leave it to younger folks who still think they're gonna live forever. lol. Besides, as the washer guys proved--when it's your profession to do such things, you become much more efficient at it. So why not leave it to the experts?"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

Mow the lawn.
I absolutely refuse. Either it waits until DH can do it or I'll pay someone to do it.
That's about the only thing that I refuse to do. There's lots of little chores I don't like doing but I'll do them when I have to. I just cannot stand to mow the lawn.

Cleaning up after our dogs in the yard. DH usually just does it all the time, but every once and a while he'll ask if I will clean it up. Usually an hour massage is enough to get me off the hook
I'm not quite willing to pay someone else to do it though... its about $16-$18/week for clean up for two big dogs. If it was a choice between doing it myself or paying, I'd suck it up and do it.

Wow. I'm spoiled. I don't do anything I don't want to do.......or...I don't mind doing the things I have to do??? Either way, no worries. Although I must agree with Grannynellie.... Maybe there's really something in doing "virtual exercises". If it can work for an Olympic athlete, surely it'll work for me???

I wish you were in my grade 10 business class with me
The teacher made taxes fun! Don't laugh.
He gave us case study scenarios with 20 year olds, family with newborn, seniors.
He gave prizes when we found the most deductions for each scenario. Like Alex Trebeck and Jeopardy
He had a tax competition just before the exam, where teams competed against each other to find the most deductions and complete the returns the fastest. Again, more prizes.
Aaahhh, memories. When you have a good teacher, that impacts you in a positive way, long after the class is over....pricelessLast edited by Shwa Girl; Thu, Oct 2nd, 2014 at 06:43 PM.

I cannot stand cleaning my oven. It's the one chore I absolutely hate doing. It's not even that difficult once I get started. But, for some reason, I just cringe at the thought of it.

Washing windows, cleaning mirrors, and pulling weeds out of the garden. I would rather have someone do them for me.

Well, I believe you!! And I'm sticking to it!
I don't vacuum, either...asthma...I have to close the door to my hubby's vacuuming. I know, it sounds pathetic of me, but the coughing just isn't worth it.
Of course for the past 4 months I've done absolutely nothing!! And I hate it.

Well I'd like to trade with a lot of you. I Love mowing the lawn and gardening! But I'd love to ditch the taxes! HATE them!!! But I have to do it because no one else knows what to count and what not to count.
Next to that is garbage or cleaning out the fridge. Anything remotely nasty turns my stomach. . .and yet I could totally deal with a burn victim or severe wounds, etc. Go Figure!
