Loved the article! So true. Damn, I am all sad again. My only positive is that I am in a border town so can jump across for a Target fix occasionally although it wont be the same.
Why is it the people that do a drive by post here to say good riddance never expand or offer up their reasons for feeling that way?Opening a fee-free Tangerine account using my Orange key: 43034602S1 You will receive a $50 bonus from Tangerine. ok, stopped by Target only to see all scanners ripped from the walls
Picked up a few items I was interested in (a total of 4 things)
Looking for anyone who can help me figure out the prices
Guy in aisle says that now all things need to be scanned at the cash registers
ok, off I go to 1 of the 3 cash lanes that are open
2 women with carts full were going through everything, scanning, trying to figure out what was to be bought etc
I'm thinking to myself this is ridiculous
One lady from a different lane runs off to grab something, so off I go to scan my items with new cashier
I express my sentiment about the scanners, she looks absolutely defeated and says they have been spending most of their time scanning for people than actually checking them out
Sorry Target, but you messed up on this one
Put your scanners back up and just make a sign saying that in event of discrepancy, register price will prevail...how hard is that???
Oh, I left with nothing.

Went to target today at St.laurent, ottawa..what a huge disappointment!! Big sign "STORE CLOSING" up to 30% off..went inside found one scanner that still worked.put a bunch of stuff in my cart..2 weeks ago the chi hair dryer was $59.99 from $99.99, today it was $89.99 10% discount..most of the stuff was 10% off..are they insane!! The prices were more expensive than they've ever been..I guess they are trying to get the people who have never been to target!! I bought a purse a few weeks ago for $10.00 from $39.99 today it was $34.99!!! Stop the insanity!! There was about 5 people in the store, and there were tons of stuff left!!

Has anyone else received emails from target.COM since the announcement of the closing??
I never signed up on target.com, but I now get emails from them about 2x a week. Just this week I started getting the clearance emails for target canada stores.Join GROUPON for incredible deals, click here

I went tonight and got 15 of the large 3 liter bubbles for $1.04 each - 5% red card. The cashier was so happy for my deal, they really are troopers and she is also a former Zellers employee who has been at it for about 25 years. Hats off to them.

I stopped by my Target store today and was talking to some of the employees I'm friendly with to give them moral support. Many of them have been telling me how rude and abusive many customers have been because the sales are not to their liking. The latest - some customers are telling them how happy they are that Target is closing and reminding the employees that they are going to be out of work.
What's wrong with people? What happened to "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"?
It really hurts me to see people treating others this way.
Just needed to sound off...
SilkHave a great life!

I wonder why people (new subscribers to this site) are complaining about the prices at what used to be Target? Target is in the US now. Just because the signs are still up doesn't mean they are Targets. They are all liquidation centres now and have nothing to do with the store we love. I know this is not the place but I for one do not have the time to waste reading the blogs on smartcanucks about stores that I never visit or dislike. Finding it hard to understand why there are so many haters posting here and lurking about.
