I agree FallenPixels - prices for fruits and vegetables have gone up across the board (No Frills, Metro, RCSS, Walmart) because of our lower Canadian $. Coffee as well due to drought conditions.

Had a nice chat with a couple in the store who doesn't shop at walmart and they loved target. I told them to give rcss a try. She was like us, just going on and on about how target was amazing for us, and all the downers had no clue what they were missing. Made the trip this morning a little nicer

I believe prices will increase as well... not because of Target leaving, because of the falling dollar.

My Target got new stock in - I found the item I wanted 2 days later. Also saw new stock on some other items that were previously sold out.

Walmart is moving in (not necessarily in Target buildings) with more Canadian Supercentres:

Great more minimum wage part time jobs with no benefits & horrible working conditions to sell MADE IN CHINA junk.

WM always talks about how many low level low quality jobs they created by opening stores ..but they don't talk about how they destroyed the community in which they moved in & how many other smaller retailers & businesses in that town , who actually used to pay their staff decent living wages had to close shop & lay off their staff.

So basically WM moving in doesn't create jobs in a community , the community actually loses ( net loss ) good quality jobs.

The race to bottom has begun..lets buy more chinese crap from American retailers , and lets send our manufacturing jobs to China & our profits to US ..LOL.

I've been to one of those out of curiosity and not sure if they're all like that, but it looked like a dingy liquidation center, felt very uninviting and cold and I just felt like running out of there. No quality or original items ANYWHERE and the home decor section looked like from the 90's.

Even liquidation at Target with people leaving everything all over the place is a 100% improvement over that.
