OK, so I bought an Alfa Phyllo Pie from Food Basics because it was on sale. Can anybody give me any ideas on what to do with it? LOL

Thanks for asking....yes, it does come with baking instructions. I was just looking for some ideas on what to serve with it. Does it go with a pasta dish or just a salad....just wondering, that's all.

I'd suggest a nice big salad with it....spinach and mandarin oranges, red onions sliced very thin, balsamic dressing or raspberry dressing....pasta and pie don't really go together, IMHO....veggies & smashed potatoes would...Did you bake it up already?

Sorry, I had googled it, but there wasn't much info on what types there were.
What is in it?
Just so you know, your post reminded me that I hadn't made my phyllo spinach pie in a while, so there's one in the oven right now!
It has layers of cooked rice mixed with ricotta or creamed cottage cheese with mozza; spinach layer is wilted spinach with onions, garlic, and mozza; garlic/herb tomato sauce in between. I use eight sheeets of phyllo, and the size is a pie plate.
It's very filling, so we are just having borscht before it.Last edited by Natalka; Fri, Apr 24th, 2015 at 07:01 PM.
