It sounds like everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Ours was very full with lots of family and fun.
Family came from BC so we had a total of 10 people in our home since Thursday and my grown children were here for 3 meals so that adds up to 16 people, plus a few of my sons' friends stopped by frequently. I think that had something to do with how beautiful our two young second cousins are!!Sixteen and seventeen and drop dead gorgeous girls, and my son's friends were a bit smitten!!
I think I need a break from kitchen, laundry and cleaning details today, I am exhausted but we really had a lot of fun.the men got a lot of bird hunting in and enjoyed the crispy duck I cooked. We had countless games of catch phrase and the men ruled, beating the girls in most of the rounds!! I took my granddaughter and niece on a trail ride on Friday, and it was beautiful with the fall leaves, we rode for about an hour and a half through the woods and along the Red Deer river, I haven't ridden a horse for years so I was bit sore the next day!!
It is clean out the leftovers and fend for yourself tonight, i need to go to work for a few hours tonight.
I have another cardiology appointment in the morning so I am really hoping for some results this time, hoping to get the blood pressure issues worked out once and for all!!

Yes TG I hope you get some answers. I must say I had a lazy day today-about all I accomplished was cooking dinner. I know the rest of the week will be busier so it all evens out.

So not shopping on the weekend came back to bite me, lol. We ran out of milk this morning at least we made it through breakfast. I worked in the city today so it's a late day on the train, but at least there is a No Frills at the train station. Dinner was already prepped so it was pretty quick to feed the kids as DH is gone until the weekend.
I also missed some good three day sales, but like others I did not want to face the mayhem.

Made toasted westerns and poutine for dinner. All on hand so no spending $ for last thought dinner. Ham again tomorrow night I think! Tidied the kitchen and put a load in the washer along with a couch blanket to make it a full load. Will hang it to dry since I am all caught up. Trying to get the little one up to bed! Also had a $5 sale tonight. A men's jacket from the locker we bid on. The crappiest items ( clothing and Christmas items) and we have done well and still more to sell! Not bad for our 1st locker.

Good morning!

Great chocolate deal at Rexall yesterday - don't usually shop there.
Two big boxes of Hallowe'en chocolate - 95 Mars and 90 Cadbury, 14.99 each. Used $10 off when you spend $30, and got back a $10 gift card. More chocolate than we need, but uh.... yum!

Today is the day my parents got married in 1945. They had the big three-day Ukrainian wedding out in the country - I've been to the church where they had the ceremony.

The other pic is of their 40th anniversary in 1985, marked at my older sister's wedding which was Oct. 12 that year.
My dad passed away a year and a half later, so they were married 41 years.

Wrt your dog's wound. How about mitts for his feet? Would he wear them? How about a doggie shirt with a hood? You might be able to find something for free on Kijiji. (Like a Halloween costume) Our dog is having the same issue and the cone has actually irritated the one wound on his neck. I have been giving our pooch some Benedryl (he's 20 lb and the vet said I could give him one twice a day) to stop him from scratching. Good luck to Chester!

The neighbours dog attacked him and he keeps scratching at the wound on the back of his neck/head (more like where the collar sits). he is now wearing a neck tube with some panty liners on it with some polysporin (fingers crossed) this works (haha). thanks for the suggestions, greatly appreciated

Happy Hump day! Yikes! Just booked off time at Christmas and we realized we only have 7 weeks of work left before we are off for 16 days!!! I still have about 10 vacation days to use up before then too! Need to start planning days off here and there for sure. And I need to get organized and finish Christmas shopping! I can't believe how fast the time is going by.

Good morning, everyone.

It's a bright beautiful morning. And I get to spend the next hour cleaning, cause someone had an upset tummy during the night. Sigh. Seems the short one threw up his dinner (which explained the screaming at 6am - now I feel bad I told him to be quiet and go back to bed). Wouldn't be so bad if there was only one spot to clean - he left a trail running the length of the studio, from the window to the bathroom. All on the carpet. At least the poor boy is acting like his usual obnoxious self, running around, trying to beat up his dog. Poor Lily dog, otoh, is very subdued and worried about Quincy cat. Needless to say, I'm worried about both, since neither one is a baby any more (Lily dog is 12 and Quincy cat just turned 9).

Oh well. We're all getting older. Not sure about wiser, since I still have the lowest IQ of the three of us.

Off to the theatre this afternoon for another dose of culture (if you can call the 60s heavy metal infused punk rock soundtrack of Marat/Sade culture ).

@Andit glad to hear Quincy is feeling better, hope all the marks come out of the carpet

I asked MIL if she could drive me to WM and Freshco while Logan has his appointment tonight, the dogs need food and I want to stock up on the ground beef on sale. I may attempt to price match the ground beef at WM if it's not all hide in the back (freezer) of the store.

I also want to check and see if McDonalds has the Halloween booklets, has anyone purchased these and are they halloweeny???? I was thinking perhaps stocking stuffers but if they are halloweeny that may not fly (haha) if not I will pick up to gcs for each for their stockings. My original plan was to have the boys stockings done by Halloween but with no vehicle that most likely won't happen.

It's hard to believe but in a months time my Christmas decorations will be up or atleast started, I can't wait.

I have steaks defrosting for supper if they are not thawed in time we will have leftovers as I don't want to defrost the steaks in the microwave.

Hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving! We only visited DH's family and I can only say I survived the trip. No accidents from LO, surprisingly enough. She told me she needed to use the potty on the 2 hour trip about half an hour before we arrived. I asked her to hold it and she did. Usually she gives me about 30 seconds to get her on the potty before the major cleanup needs to take place.

We went to vote late in the day on Saturday and there was no wait at any of the stations. I heard Sunday was a zoo, with some people waiting in lines that snaked out the door! Phew! LO enjoyed watching the ducks at the lake nearby and they came by to say hello.

I'm looking for a few good ideas as I'm sure a few others on here would appreciate some helpful items to help fill those stockings.

Ours doesn't care much yet about toys and gifts but she enjoys ripping paper. Last year, I stuck in a few necessities like lip balm and batteries, then crayons and four new animals for her Little People's Farm set.

This year, I will stick in a hairbrush (LO's hair is down to her waist now and she's very interested in hair brushes), a Dora toothbrush, washable markers, Goldfish crackers, and will start looking for some small toys and crafts soon.

We'll probably budget for one big toy (possibly a train set), one article of clothing, and one learning toy (like an art easel or a few books). I figure with Christmas coming up (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.), she'll have enough. Then, we'll also have a family outing somewhere.

Santa at daycare last year frightened her to tears, so all the gifts are from Mummy and Daddy. Santa can buy his own gifts.

@sweet sparrow sounds like she is well on her way with potty training, awesome job.

Oh my boys just loved those brio train sets, you can purchase a wood train set at IKEA fairly reasonably priced compared tot he brio. My eldest had a love affair with the brio trains sets but boy oh boy people think lego is expensive not even close to the brio individual pieces and small packs of tracks.

poor sweetheart being scared by santa, hopefully this year she loves him (haha)
