Good day, everyone! Beautiful and sunny here - around mid-teens, I would think.

Prepping stuff for homemade pizzas tonight - cut up the last of the roasted ham, onions, have yet to do the rest - will head into the kitchen to do the dough soon - hoping my husband is around to do the kneading for me - his strong arms do that job in no time flat! Also, either him or my son (if he comes in time) will do the cheese grating - all these things help save my hands and arms! It's tough enough when I have to stretch the dough for the pans - neither of them have those skills yet, lol! (They have tried, though!)

Hoping you are all having a lovely Sunday!

@thriftygranny glad they are replacing the window, I think the company would rather replace than give a discount because of warranty issues but glad it's getting done before the real cold weather.
@coupon girl free food is great
@Natalka I hope the men arrive in time to knead the dough and grate that cheese hun, take care and it's great that you listen to your body and it's limits,

Our car died. You'll remember we bought a new van in January. I think we found a new to us one that will do for $1500. We have one good vehicle, we want another that is safe and reliable, but not new.

We could pay cash as we have enough saved. That money is for other things. I think we will use LOC instead, I can see us paying that off more quickly than resaving the $.

We had snow this morning big flakes let's say a preview of what's to come (shrug).

My parents and I dug through the snow like squirrels for the walnuts & butternuts. My poor dad got a butternut drop on his head.

I will husk the walnuts tomorrow and the next few days. The butternuts need to dry out to remove the husks as they are too difficult to remove right now.

I decided to pass on the apples given the thick frost last night and the snow BUT mainly because I couldn't take a 45 minute ride each way sitting between my parents. The middle spot definitely is not made for an adult and definitely could not put a car seat there....oh well...there's always next year.

Tomorrow's supper will be pulled pork as I didn't get in the crockpot before heading out before nut picking.

    Monday - pulled pork
    Tuesday - homemade chicken tenders
Wednesday - hot Italian sausage on the bbq
Thursday - chicken drumsticks (shake n' bake)
Friday - hamburgers on the bbq

oh granger that's too bad, I hope it didn't leave you stuck with the kiddos. You're lucky as your hubby is a mechanic or mechanically inclined which helps on the car repair side of things.

Sounds like you have a good plan in place, pay off the LOC vs. use your savings. Good luck & happy car shopping!

J&C - I woke up my husband from his nap - and he both kneaded the dough and grated the cheese.

Granger, bummer about your vehicle... gah!

good morning all! @Natalka I love when the " muscle " makes easy work for us!!
@Granger , ugh! I know that feeling of being forced to drain savings for a vehicle. Best of luck!
@jasperandchar I really wanted to post that song " Stuck In The Middle With You!! " ha ha ( being squished like a sardine in the front seat for any trip )
@coupon girl hoping there won't be any glaucoma and you can perhaps take something for the dry mouth. So many things can cause us to miss out on good sleep. Fingers crossed for you.
@avoncallingu hope you have a wonderful trip! Sounds dandy so far ( on the plane! ha ha )

This a.m. I dashed over to Metro ( at 6:00 !! ) and grabbed some packages Cashmere ( 16 rolls, or 8 doubles ) for just $1.99 each! I used the web saver and smartsource coupons that I begrudgingly printed off at home. I really do not want to print any coupons but the saving was pretty good for these.

Have a wonderful ( brrrrr cold ) day everyone.

I hate cold season! For the first time this fall, LO has come down with a nasty cold. She's completely congested, and she'll have violent coughing fits followed by a sneeze. She's not sleeping well and we hear every cough and sneeze through the monitor. I'm thinking of shutting it off, but then it'll probably be the one time we need it... Is there such thing as a cough suppressant for a 2 year old? Or will they just not take it? I hope LO's able to get a little sleep today. LO was dead cranky when we woke her this morning, but then, who likes being woken at 6 AM?

I'm trying to get hold of a friend to discuss her daughter's birthday party next week but haven't been able to get a hold of her. I found a nice toy on clearance but it can't be returned if the birthday girl doesn't like it.

Children's clothing presents an interesting frugal debate. If you don't have a lot of clothes, you're stuck with doing laundry almost as frequently as cloth diapers and you need a lot of clothes to fill a load. It seems like with LO, it doesn't matter how many options she has, if she doesn't like clothes that pull over her head, onesies, shirts, etc. are a waste. On the bright side, LO no longer needs a wardrobe change every three months.

Saturday, I was stuck putting bedding in the dryer as LO needed blankets for bed. I suppose the emergency laundry will exist until there are no more accidents.
