Sweet Sis, I pray this morning finds you both refreshed from a good night's sleep with your husband having found relief from the excruciating pain he endured. I hope today finds you both at peace, able to rest comfortably as much as possible, and that your husband's pain medications can work their magic. You're a powerful advocate for your dear Husband; I pray that you continue to have the courage to fight for his comfort through this most difficult time.

His first chemotherapy is tomorrow; I continue to keep you both in my prayers so many times a day..

Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. You are an inspiration to me & I admire you so much. Living with unspeakable pain is torture & I hope that your dear husband gets some relief. Life sure gets in the way of life with the curves that get sent our way.
Today I had a fall. Almost face first on the sidewalk. Having a prosthesis on my right side & half of my pelvis on my left side gone, it made it tricky to get up. I had a friend there who helped me, but it wasn't easy to get up. I swore (inside my head) at cancer & told it to leave my friends, special people alone.
I have you front & centre in my heart Avon. xxx

avon, Just a very quick hello to let you know how special you are. If DH did not have you in his corner I am certain he would have been ignored even longer at the hospital. Finally he got the relief he needed from the pain and some sleep. Take care, will have you both in my prayers tonight.

Hello friends!

They were NOT able to do chemo today . DH had to get a PICC line put in because they could not find a reliable vein into which to put the chemo. He also has to have treatments to assist his digestive system before they start. It was considered to be an emergency procedure to put the PICC line in. It failed in one arm, was tentative in the other. They thought that they might have to switch to a surgery to put in a port but that would be a day surgery.

So we will go tomorrow with the presumption that the PICC line will work and the chemo can begin.

The home health care nurse has not yet been here to follow up.

Wow @avoncallingu - if it's not one thing, it's another. I hope they can get the line in without surgery, and that the digestive treatments are successful.

Oh, Avon, nothing is going easy for you two, is it? How exhausting for you both, and now again tomorrow... I'm sure your Hubby is thankful that you're with him always, and always looking for whatever will make this easier on him; you're such a blessing as his advocate.

I'm sorry for all DH and you have been through in these last few days,but am encouraged by all the love and support expressed throughout this thread.I continue to pray for you both,specifically that all will go well tomorrow.
