This morning, little DJ was hiding under their bed and wouldn't come out...when they managed to reach her and get her out, she squealed and hid again...long story short, the vet took an x-ray this afternoon, broken leg, and a trip very sooon to Toronto to see an orthopedic vet.
When they were out with friends last evening, she must have jumped from something very high or miscalculated, poor critter...she's being cast now, will be on pain pills until Toronto....
And the beat goes on.......This thread is currently associated with: N/A

I am so sorry to hear that Lynn49. When they are little they are so delicate. Fingers crossed that everything goes well.

Oh, that's awful - we've never had that happen in all our decades of having kittens and cats, but I can see how very easily it can happen.
The good thing is that they heal really quickly - so a big rub behind the ears from me!

Thank you, Tweets, Natalka. Our DD just picked our Grandson up from his sleep-over and she showed me a pic of her x-ray...a clean, long break, then a fracture running down from there. So terribly sad to see that. The vet thinks she might have caught her leg on something, but really...what on earth could do that?! And with the kids not home last evening, the poor thing must have been so scared and in pain...
They should hear this evening when they all have to head down to Toronto for her surgery...not the restful March break they were looking forward to, but things happen...poor wee critter...

Oh no! Poor wee thing must have been so scared all alone. Was the dog in a crate so as not to bug her? Hope she gets lots of TLC as well as the medical care in T.O. Your DGS will sure have a good story to tell his classmates about " what he did on his March Break! "

My what an unfortunate accident! My heart aches for the poor thing! She certainly has an understanding "grandma". Wishing for the best and quickest healing path for her!

Thank you, everyone...she's in good hands at home now and I can tell you that a cast on a broken leg feels a whole lot better than without one, so hopefully she's mostly free from pain. Not sure when they're all heading south to Toronto too see an orthopedic vet, it'll likely turn into an overnight trip...poor little critter, they just can't understand why they hurt, or that they'll get better...so sad for our animal friends, fur-kids...
