Can't believe how much I walked around today after the breakie! Didn't buy much, just a sleeveless top for $5, almost got some boots 1/2 price but they didn't have my size left!
Did they have your size right?

There are 5 different coverage levels and I chose to analyse the level that afforded an annual coverage which approximated the cost of Bailey's final days.

Based on Bailey's age, I would have paid out $6,125 in premiums. For the cost associated with her diagnosis and meds for her last days, I would have been responsible for a deductible and co-pay amounting to $1,450. All in, that would have been $7,575 to the insurance company with only $3,550 back to me.

Not good economics in Bailey's specific case.

But, as some of my employement options still in play are with (people) insurance companies, let me say that I'm a GREAT believer in Insurance!!
I remember looking into pet insurance way back pre-kid when we still had my three buddies Ben, Frank and Pearce. As expensive as veterinary care is, the insurance is far more expensive. A rip-off actually in my humble opinion. Even when Pearce broke his leg and cost a small fortune to fix we were still ahead of the game. He was a true nine-lifer, he once jumped out the window of my car when it was moving - and that was NOT how he broke his leg. He just picked himself up after he finished skidding and rolling, gave himself a good shake and looked at me like "What?"

    Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

I finished the doggy cookies (well, I might make another batch tomorrow, since I foolishly burned some - serves me right for letting the short one nap on me).

Tomorrow I work on the people cookies. Still not sure what to make, but I'd better figure it out soon, so I can run out in the morning & pick up all the ingredients necessary (so far I'm leaning towards lemon cheesecake squares, although I've never tried the recipe).

On the subject of pet insurance, when I looked into it, there were too many restrictions & it would have cost me more for most things than to pay outright. What I do is put aside $ each month in a piggy bank for emergencies - even with Lily dog's overnight stay in hospital with a private nurse after she sniffed something she shouldn't have (what kind of twit leaves crack on the sidewalk anyway???!!!) & Quincy cat's dental issues (I drew the line at buying him braces - he doesn't need perfectly straight teeth to flirt), I would have paid more in insurance premiums than they'd pay out.

Off to play with the critters.

    Night all.

We looked at pet insurance with our second Sheltie and decided against it.... as it ended up, he was pretty healthy for most of his life (besides his arthritis). He was on Metacam towards the end (which I called liquid gold because of the price) but besides that, we were all pretty lucky. He died a few years ago of cancer and went very quickly. He went from healthy to gone in just over a month....

I was driving my son to trampoline around 5:00 today and was listening to Q. Candice was covering for Kim.

A woman called in and asked her if the Song of the Day was on because her husband phoned her to say it was and to start calling. Did anyone else hear Candice's response?.........She said to the caller, because the song had not been played yet, when you see your husband you should kick him in the balls!!! The woman was speechless! I had my 11 year old in the car with me and I was mortified!!!!!!!!!
